[In progress] Jurassic Park 35mm 6.5K scan + 14 trailers
(2025-06-19, 02:59 AM)borisanddoris Wrote: Just got the discs. To keep it simple, I’m totally happy with this video presentation. The audio mix is still very remixed and to me unbalanced. The original mix is still the best. Worth picking up!

What about the other two? Are they also a tad better? I guess no real effort was done for them either. I mean, since they did not for the original beloved film...

I see CiNEPHiLES has released `Jurassic Park` and `The Lost World` with the Cinema DTS tracks as they're better but not `Jurassic Park III`; does that mean there's no Cinema DTS track available for it?

There is one for JP3 as well. It might even be one of those that have been made more widely available recently. Maybe CiNEPHiLES doesn't have it yet.

I've yet to watch the others, but was already happy with the previous release for those save the audio.  I'm curious to see if the Lost World looks even better.

@borisanddoris, from a review I saw, it's about the same difference as JP, with a bit of extra clean-up to remove some little scratches and white dots.

When is the release approximately?

Thank You so much!

Not quite sure. I'm patching it together now. I have all the missing frames found and all the little splices patched in for video now (but didn't do any quick color matching yet) and am working on patching the missing analog audio bits and assembling the Cinema DTS tracks together and synching. Then it will be ready to render out the video.

I'm new here. Who do I have to speak to regarding the jurassic park scan?

Hi, can anyone let me know about this?

Spent some time with the new disc, not yet in projection but on both a computer display and LED TV. I think it looks magnificent. I think along with mildly revised coloring, there's less noise reduction, more natural grain, and better encoding which gives us an outstanding presentation. I still don't like the balance of the Atmos track but it's not a problem to mux in something better. It's well worth picking up.

First post!

The new disc really is the best home release we’ve gotten to date. I’ve seen some folks call the fixes marginal- I really disagree. If the 4K previous was comparable to an upper end blu-ray, then this is a true 4K upgrade.

Personally I like the Atmos, but it’s still not the definitive audio. The rain during the Rex breakout made me physically look up and grin. Just a fun, alternate version of a movie I’ve seen well over 100 times.

Happy with the investment, and I’m sure I’ll pop it in alongside this restoration when available.

I just received my trilogy set. Soon I'll see what's what in motion for all three projected. Fingers crossed for a not-so-underwhelming experience. I suppose it'll worth the €24.99 I paid for it.
