				Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had done a bit-perfect rip of the isolated music and effects track from the 1989 MGM/UA LaserDisc of The Wizard of Oz. I would like the track to be a PCM WAV file so I can mux it to a rip of the 1999 DVD (which I own), and I would like the track to be sync-able to the rip. I don't have the 4K Blu-ray release, since I don't have anything UHD-related yet.

Thanks!

I thought share my little personal project (and first ever) here.

As there are only rumors that a UHD version of this wonderful movie (in my opinion) should be released in the nearer future, i decided to make the wait bearable and take the bluray and an Open Matte Version of "Drive" - who doesn´t love more picture - and create a hybrid version (wih the tremendous help of spoRv), because not all have access to the famous meican OM bluray release.

Audio:
 - DTS XLL 5.1 as flac (audacity couldn´t export it in .wav due to the 4Gb limit - the hell i know why would the dts track from the bluray become bigger afterwards)

- AC3 5.1 640 kb/s

And a little case artwork that "theryaney" (from fanedit.org) did for me

|   Why are cinema surround speakers set to -3Db? |

Is it to compensate for the fact that the front 3 speakers are behind the screen? And if so, is the intention that the audience perceives the levels as the same?

If this is true then the accepted wisdom that cinema DTS rips need to have their surround channels attenuated by -3Db for home viewing would be wrong.

It's interesting when looking at home mixes that are close to their theatrical counterparts as some apply the attenuation and some don't.

I’m new! I’ve always been fascinated with film restoration ever since seeing mini features on how the original Star Wars film trilogy was restored back in the early 90s ?
