I'm always interested in fan preservations, restorantions and fan edits in general. That's why I came into OT.com, AMPS and now FanRes. I'm really glad we have a place like this to learn and experiment in film/video preservation techniques.
I'm starting the process of organizing my time to post here more often.

Thank you all, folks, for making this happen.
Long live FanRes.com!

  Unusual emoticons

I'm happy with the emoticons we have here, but I like to use others, horizontal, in some sites where the : ) is not translated in Smile

So, here you are some: (^^,) (-^,) (xx_) (.._) (OOu) (oO/) (°°_) (ツ)

Would you add more?

  Unofficially Official LD-Decode thread

Taken wholesale from the ot.com thread.

Quote:https://github.com/happycube/ld-decode

Perhaps I should set up a FAQ?

1. How does it work?

2. Which would look better, a standard X0 analog to digital transfer or ld-decode using a lower end laserdisc player?

3. Which would look better, a standard X0 analog to digital transfer or ld-decode using an X0?

4. I noticed that there is a vhs-decode option in the works. How complete is it?

Hi there, how's everyone doing? I'm a member on OT.com and AMPSdeux and am just generally curious about any interesting projects going on, the Star Wars preservation projects in particular.

Cheers,

Lasz

  Cropping an MKV file
Posted by: alexp2000 - 2015-06-13, 02:26 AM - Forum: Official and unofficial releases - Replies (13)

Hi there, just wondering if there is a simple way to crop an mkv file? For example, when using vlc it is possible to crop a 16:9 image to 5:3 (1.66) or 4:3 but is there a program that can make a permanent change? Thinking of using something like this for a coupel of projects I have in mind...
