Thumbs Up It Follows

Anyone see this yet?

I just watched it this weekend and loved it. It was very old school with a slow build up of horror. And in keeping with that old school flavor there were no shaky camera, no radical cuts just beautiful well balance shots in 2.39. Kind of like Fury Road, it used classic filming techniques to create a refreshing new film. In that way even though the premise is different, both my brother and I got a Halloween vibe from it.

Also of note the soundtrack was great too. A little over the top but also refreshingly a throw back. Sort of reminded me also of Carpenter and the best Italian composers from the 60s and 70s. You can stream it here:

  Hello to all Members.

I heard about this page at originaltrilogy.com and just signed in here.

Nice too see there are so many people around who hold the artistic value of Movies in high esteem. Personally, I am a fan of the so called 'Spaghetti Westerns' and many other classics from the 60/70s. But their release on DVD/Blu Ray were not always satisfying. Sometimes they ruin the colours, then again they change the sound effects. Its even more surprising if that happens by the own director (George Lucas-Star Wars).. completely changing the orginal feeling of the movie from the cinema. Yes a movie must feel right and adding some effects 20 years later can't be good.

Well long story short, thats why i joined this forum, with the intention to support those good projects to bring the original Art back.

See you again.. with best Wishes,

Revolverheld

  [help]Possible Star Wars trailer audio
Posted by: spoRv - 2015-06-01, 06:00 PM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - Replies (25)

Found this audio track: https://www.sendspace.com/file/4ctcmy

Basically, Darth Vaders breaths, then something that seems to be knocking on a door, then lightsaber noises... maybe it's not even remotely related to Star Wars - officialy, I mean...

Has anyone a clue?

Hey, crampedmisfit1990 here. DoomBot (hell of a guy) recommended I join and so I did. Great site. Love the restorations and corrections to movies that everyone is doing. I work some on restoration, but I am still learning a thing or two. Hope to stay quite a while...

Helloeth', Part I: The Color Plurple

Hi, my name is.. *checks tag* ...taas007, and I'm an alcoh... uh.. a movieholic. *nailed it*

I sometimes try to (re)create nice things that have been neglected. It works some of the time all the time, and when it doesn't, a drawer works excellent for 'em too.
I'm a user of the usual suspects, ie the Adobe lineup, though one of the suspects is not like the others *winks aplenty*

Mostly interested in trailers... and things related to.. uh... trailers. But I do other stuff too! Like... I, uh...  I do... okay, trailers. You got me.
Hello, FanRezzers! (Resatorians?)

This looks like the right place..

Thumbs Up Hello FANRES
Posted by: HDVinnie - 2015-05-31, 07:51 PM - Forum: Presentation - Replies (4)

Greetings Everyone,
I just wanted to properly introduce myself to the community. I go by Vinnie. I have been encoding movies for several years on a tracker I run. Don't want to post link due to rules, but I also do a whole lot of AfterEffects, Photoshop, FCPX, ect. Recently I have started doing color grading for films. My first real project is Man of Steel. While a lot hate the film or say it is fine as is, I am a big superman fan and enjoyed the film very much. Just felt it was to de saturated and dull colors. So I gave it a go.
I will start a thread here regarding the Man Of Steel 2013 CF-BluRG project. Smile

Best Regards,

Vinnie

Hey, I finally got around to signing up today after receiving the email about this place 2 months back. (Derp.)

The Welcome email links to http://fanres.com/announcements.php?aid=1 which for me comes up with a Cloudflare page saying it doesn't exist. The correct link includes forum.:

Hi there:
I hope this forum sticks around because I see a lot of
fan preservations on original trilogy forum that take quite a while
to get done.

My fan preservation is the Macross Do you remember love? theatrical movie.
The recent Macross DYRL? BD had two blurred out censored scenes and an
unnecessary opening title card.

The current status of the Macross DYRL preservation is starting
all over again because of a loss of 2 main
hard drives which did have my preservation video files on them.

So, it has taken three months to recover the rest of my missing files, shuffle
around files to other hard drives, back up as much as possible and then
establish a Synology NAS for long term back up use.

It's a good thing I typed out all my preservation work notes on the forum, so
I just need to re-rip the BD and remastered DVD again to get back on track.

Big Grin Hello people!
Posted by: Bewy - 2015-05-31, 10:39 AM - Forum: Presentation - Replies (12)

Hi all,

I'm Bewy from OT.com (where I don't post much anymore but I still visit a lot), I'm 27 and I can help with French translations

On FanRes I've so far translated the making-of from The Arrival bonus disc for spoRv and transcribed French bonus from Cube 2: Hypercube for jedeitor. If you need proofreading in French on translating stuff...

I also have some editing/Photoshop/(a little) After Effects skills but I've never tried fanediting or restoring stuff (yet?) :3

See you all later! Big Grin
