  Cropping an MKV file
Posted by: alexp2000 - 2015-06-13, 02:26 AM - Forum: Official and unofficial releases - Replies (13)

Hi there, just wondering if there is a simple way to crop an mkv file? For example, when using vlc it is possible to crop a 16:9 image to 5:3 (1.66) or 4:3 but is there a program that can make a permanent change? Thinking of using something like this for a coupel of projects I have in mind...

What We Do in the Shadows (2014)
Posted by: spoRv - 2015-06-13, 02:02 AM - Forum: Movies, TV shows and other - Replies (2)

A little comedy about vampires ordinary lives (pun intended), with a bit of werewolves and zombies... don't expect to laugh loud, it will not happen; but some smiles, here and there, could! Wink

DO NOT watch it if you are not a die-hard vampire fan - you are warned!

Finally something a bit different; don't want to ruin you the film with a spoiler, so I'll just say it has a simple but fresh story, acting is good, and... can't say more... if you like Pan's Labirynth, Franklyn and Sucker Punch, you'll like this as well!

Video HDVinnie-BluRG FANRES Projects
Posted by: HDVinnie - 2015-06-12, 08:05 PM - Forum: In progress - Replies (13)

Greetings Everyone,
I just wanted to properly introduce myself to the community and start a projects thread. I go by Vinnie. I have been encoding movies for several years on a HD Tracker I run. Don't want to post link due to rules, but I also do a whole lot of AfterEffects, Photoshop, FCPX, ect. Recently I have started messing with color grading for films. My first real project is Man of Steel. While a lot hate the film or say it is fine as is, I am a big superman fan and enjoyed the film very much. Just felt it was to de saturated and dull colors. So I gave it a go.

[request] Children of the Corn (1984) Directors Cut
Posted by: X5gb - 2015-06-12, 02:46 PM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - No Replies

Could anyone in the UK who has old recorded tv vhs tapes from 1987 ( and relatives / friends) check if they have the LWT (other ITV regions as well) premiere of Stephen King's Children of the Corn which was shown on Saturday 9th May 1987. It is the only known showing of the ultra rare Directors Cut which is discussed in the alternate version section of the film on imdb site.
I recorded it at the time and can confirm it definitely was the Director's Cut but stupidly recorded over it sometime in the 90,s due to my naivety at the time assuming it was the US R rated theatrical version and that the normal UK vhs was cut.

I was tired to see all those empty avatars, the same for every user, so... I thought to assign to every user with no avatar, a random one!!!

So now, if you don't like it, you are forced to upload a better one! Wink

Even if it seems the budget was so low that they cannot afford the two letters, "ty", at the end of the title Wink this little movie is not bad at all!!!

Don't expect multimillion CGI shots, fast action, battles, droids, spaceships etc... so, what is it in this movie? Don't want to spoiler too much, but it has some bits from several films and games like Alien, Doom, Dead Space and many others... story is original, acting is quite good, just pacing is a bit slow, but apart that, it's a good sci-fi movie - not for everyone, but for many... if you like Dante 01 and Cargo, this is a masterpiece in comparison! Big Grin
