Hey, guys.
The project started there: https://fanrestore.com/thread-6333.html
Basically, this is a recreation of the remastered theatrical cut of Peter Jackson's The Frighteners in 1080p open matte.

Video sources: German Turbine director's cut Blu-ray remastered, theatrical cut WEB-DL of the old master for some shots regraded in DaVinci Resolve with the help of LUTs generated with Dr. Dre's colormatching tool to better blend in.
Audio sources: German Turbine UHD and 15th anniversary Universal Blu-ray for the English dts HDMA 5.1 and 2.0 tracks, French dts 5.1 track and German dts HDMA 5.1 and 2.0 tracks, WEB-DL for the English EAC3 5.1 track.
Subtitles sources: German Turbine UHD for the English and German tracks, regular and SDH plus German forced tracks, Universal Blu-ray for the English SDH track and Spanish track, original file from Paramount Channel for the French track that I improved upon, plus a French forced track that I extracted out of it. All of those are in PGS format.
Available to regular members on demand, meaning no newbies who have to get involved in this place before asking for stuff.

Does by any chance someone have access to the LD/DVD/VHS and can share it?
All I've seen so far a very bad quality from a copy of a copy of a copy.
Would be really cool to see this movie preserved, preferably in the 200min version.

With no hope for a blu-ray release, I've taken it upon myself to re-assemble the first few seasons of WKUK using the best quality footage available. Thankfully, seasons 4 & 5 got HD releases on streaming back in the day, and web-dls are readily available. This project only covers seasons 1 - 3.
It was shot and edited (mostly) in HD, but the only complete and uncensored version is the original DVD (the new DVD is censored) which is long out of print and very expensive on the second-hand market. But thankfully a lot of sketches got HD releases online.
I have not done anything to clean up the issues with the HD masters, simply edited everything together to match the complete DVDs. Most of them seem compression related, but this was a TV show in the mid 2000's so it's pretty soft looking in general. Even with that, these are still much nicer in quality compered to what we had.
The original commentary tracks are included, as well as custom chapters labeling each sketch. Funnily enough the commentaries on season 3 frequently bring up a blu-ray release that never happened.
Sources:
Official YouTube uploads of censored episodes
Censored HD web-dls (slightly less censored then the standard YT uploads)
YouTube uploads of "banned" sketches (not sure if these are official or not, but they are native HD and not upscales)
DVD rips (Used for audio*, upscaled video used for a small amount of footage that I couldn't find in HD)
*the audio is in mp3. I couldn't find the raw ac3 online, but it should sync to the video if I ever get a hold of it.
Potential Future Updates:
If I can get ahold of the new DVDs, those have new commentary tracks edited to the censored episodes. I would like to edit those to these to make it as complete as possible.
I'd also like to get better rips of the original DVDs. The ones I have are re-encoded, and I'd like the audio tracks and subtitles.
PM me for a link.

Hello.
May be a long shot, but would anyone happen to have Cantonese audio for this one? I think the highest resolution it'll have been released on would be DVD, but that might be better quality than audio from a webrip.
Cheers.

| Laserdisc audio on official 4k discs? |

Question for people that are far more knowledgeable than I am: has anyone checked to see how the audio tracks on released 4k discs compare to actual bit-perfect transfers done by people here?
From my own collection, I know it's been done on Young Guns, Robocop and Basic Instinct. I saw people complaining in the Basic Instinct thread over at blu-ray.com that there was some sibilance there and was wonder if that might have been introduced in their workflow.
