Heathers (1989) [LVD9521] synced to Arrow BD
Posted by: wright96d - 2023-09-06, 04:42 PM - Forum: Released - No Replies

Input Soundtrack: 16-bit, 44.1khz, 2.0 Mono (bit perfect)
Output Soundtrack: 16-bit, 44.1khz, Mono
Ripped by: Soundman

To achieve proper sync with this release, assuming you’re ripping from the disc, you'll first need to run the movie through mkvmerge or another similar program, and split before Chapter 2, as the first chapter is almost 30 seconds of pure nothing. While not necessary for sync, I would also recommend splitting before the last chapter, as it's also 6 seconds of nothing. I believe both of these chapters do not appear when playing the disc.

Please thanks and PM for access

NOTE: While exacting bit-perfect accuracy is typically preferred for LD syncs, I prefer to use speed adjustments to keep synchronization. I also insert BD audio to cover reel changes or side breaks when necessary. As well as minor filtering in the form of DC Offset correction, de-humming, and manual declicking (when necessary). 2.0 mono tracks are processed with Voxengo MSED to remove stereo information unless stated otherwise.

  4.1 PCM mapping tsmuxer
Posted by: onlysleeping23 - 2023-09-06, 06:12 AM - Forum: Converting, encoding, authoring - Replies (3)

I’m attempting to mux a 4.1 pcm file, but my blu-ray player (sony x800mkII) is incorrectly mapping my 4.1 file to 5.0.

Media info shows the correct channel mapping, and when I add the file to tsmuxer, it shows 4.1. Not sure where I’m going wrong, and would really appreciate some guidance!

Would my best bet be to duplicate the surround back channel to SL&SR and drop about 3db?

I unfortunately do not have access to DTS-HD master suite, and would like to keep the audio lossless.

Thanks for any help!

The Fast and the Furious DTS

Does anybody happen to have the Cinema DTS track for The Fast and the Furious, or know if the original DVD DTS is the same theatrical mix?

Thanks for any help!

  Hello!

Hi everybody! I’ve been a lurker here for a while now, and would first like to thank everybody. This forum has been a great resource of information, as I have finally begun doing bit-perfect LD audio captures, and tackling some muxing projects I had been putting off for too long.

I hope to contribute as much as I can. I’m not sure if what I’ve completed so far is of any use, but as of now I have:

The Thing:
shout factory 4.1 synced to Universal UHD.

Reservoir Dogs:
US LD stereo synced to Lionsgate UHD
1997 DVD 5.1 mix synced to UHD

BTTF:
US WS LD stereo synced to Universal UHD

I plan to tackle The Shining, Goodfellas, and The Untouchables next.

I’m also willing to assist in any bit-perfect LD captures that need to be done! I’m located in the Chicagoland area.

I’m hoping to find some Cinema DTS tracks to use for my projects if anybody is gracious enough to share!

Thanks for having me, very happy to be here!

My Classic Movie audio DVD/Web synced to BD
Posted by: Falcon - 2023-08-31, 01:00 AM - Forum: Released - Replies (1)

NTSC source audio is not re-encoded.
Only PAL sources are finalized in 24 bit Flac/PCM.

 - Bunny Lake is Missing (1965) Otto Preminger :
Audio from Amazon Prime synced to UK BD (E-AC3 2.0 224kbps no re-encoded)
Amazon Prime audio is not denoised and has more detail than Blu-Ray's PCM track

 - Fallen Angel (1945) Otto Preminger :
French DVD synced to UK BD. (input : AC3 1.0 256kbps (PAL) - output : 1.0 PCM 24 bits)
French DVD is not denoised and maybe has more detail than UK BD or DVD Z1.

 - Some Like it Hot (1959) Billy Wilder
Mono PCM from Criterion BD synced to MGM BD
People may prefer the 1.66 format of MGM BD which offers more image than 1.85 Criterion BD, at the cost of a slight loss of detail, but the MGM BD still beautiful to look at.

- Call Northside 777 (1948) Henry Hathaway
French DVD synced to GER BD. (input : AC3 1.0 224 kbps (PAL) - output : 1.0 PCM 24 bits)

- A Kiss Before Dying (1956) Gerd Oswald
Mono AC3 from US MGM DVD synced to BD.
