Big fan of what everyone is doing here.  Love movies, hate that so many classics are mistreated on modern formats.  Want to watch the films of my childhood as I remember them.

With some UHDs of the original uncut version coming out, has anyone compared the audio across the many releases?
There's a JP laserdisc and a few DVDs with the mono track. I was going to pick up one of the DVDs and sync the mono as it'd be the cheapest and easiest source.

Just curious if anyone else has looked into this before I deep dive into buying a bunch of copies for my own personal autism

Hello, everyone! I'm fascinated by original audio mixes and the history of home video releases. I also love staying up to date with film restoration and new releases. I look forward to discussing these interests with you all and am excited to be part of this community!

So I finally over three nights was able to complete this project I talked about here over the years.

As you all know, the original 3 first films were released on DVD in 1997 THX approved. They are worthy of note as they include original mono track in english, french and spanish.



My goal was to sync those discs to the new UHD 4K, as the sound is preferable to the versions included in the discs.

Then I synced the audio from the DVDs, it was easy, as the sync, apart from initial delay, correspond to the UHD discs.

I added, wherever it was possible, Laserdiscs tracks to the projects.
