Lethal Weapon stereo to DC UHD
Posted by: Kameraposti - 2026-03-27, 05:15 PM - Forum: Released - Replies (1)

Hi
I liked the stereo track on the TC better than Atmos, but DC is my preferred version of the movie and it comes only with Atmos.
So I downgraded the Atmos to stereo and added the additional bits to TC stereo track.
Project was done purely for my own enjoyment but if you want it send a PM Smile

Russian WEB-DL [OKKO] (1080p)
BluRay (1080p)
UHD BluRay [WiLDCAT] (audio, subs, and named chapters)

Workflow:

BluRay was used to remove hard-coded Russian locations and subtitles.

BluRay used for opening and ending credits.
Video is synced to the UHD BluRay release for syncing any other audio tracks.

There was one part where the BluRay couldn't be used to fully cover up the hard-coded subs so I had to zoom the open matte slightly to fix it.

Open matte:

BluRay:

Result:

If anyone thinks they could help with that part using AI to remove the subs please let me know.

Need volunteers to double check everything is ok.

Action Flicks Promos On Cartoon Network - HD Restorations
Posted by: CoruscantKnight - 2026-03-26, 10:54 PM - Forum: Released - No Replies

Back in October 2008, Cartoon Network worked on a new television block to make up for the removal of Toonami, dubbed thee Action Flicks. This action block allowed Cartoon Network to air action movies every Saturday night from October 1st, 2008 to February 28th, 2009. Only four movies premiered on there while most of the showings were re-runs of other films (or their premieres, especially with Justice League: The New Frontier).

Below are my only two restorations of certain TV commercials for a couple movies.

The Empire Strikes Back TV Spots - HD Remasters
Posted by: CoruscantKnight - 2026-03-26, 10:49 PM - Forum: Released - No Replies

Back in 2016 or later, I had done full restorations of a couple TV spots from The Empire Strikes Back. The TV spots that are out there officially are of low quality and deserved full HD restorations. The only sources I had available to me then were the Despecialized Edition of The Empire Strikes Back and a 35mm scope trailer for the film with Vivaldi's music added. I'd like to redo these someday. Still, this is what I have.

I am Danielle, a 22 year old autistic Brit whose special interest is, indeed, film restoration and preservation. It's been that way since I was a teenager, and I hope to contribute to restoration projects here.

As well as film preservation, I am into Ghibli, Metal Gear and Gran Turismo.

This is a very interesting forum, and I hope to contribute to it and get a lot out of it. I enjoy creating my own Blu-ray menus and covers; I haven't gotten into restoration yet.

Video Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country - Special Home Video Version HD Reconstruction
Posted by: CoruscantKnight - 2026-03-24, 05:01 AM - Forum: Released - Replies (1)

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) 1992/1999 Special Home Video Version HD Reconstruction v1.0

I recently finished this. The goal of the project was to recreate the experience of watching the home video release of the film from the 1992 VHS/Laserdisc and 1999 DVD releases. It was not made available in HD or 4K since those later releases, as the future DVD, Blu-Ray, and 4K releases only have either the theatrical or director's cuts.

My sources were the 2022 Blu-Ray release of the theatrical cut, the 2022 4K release of the director's cut (downconverted to 1080p with a Rec 709 colorspace), and the 1999 DVD release for reference, the original tracks, subtitles, chapter stops.

I have done many fan preservations and hope to show what I did but this will most likely be the definitive fan preservation I have done thus far.

SOURCES:
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (2022 Blu-Ray Release, main source)
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (2022 4K Release, for most of the extra footage, downscaled to 1080p with a Rec. 709 Colorspace)
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1999 DVD Release, for reference, chapter stops, audio mixes, and subtitles)

  Outbreak (1995) Audio Comparison LD/DVD/BD/4K
Posted by: bendermac - 2026-03-23, 12:00 AM - Forum: Movies, TV shows and other - Replies (10)

Welp, Shout Factory just released Outbreak on 4K Blu-ray and I'm not super happy. No extras for this movie at all. But for the audio I was hoping to get a proper restoration of the audio. The LaserDisc was just awesome and many used it for demos back in the day. The R1 DVD should have the same mix, but I don't have it to verify. I was able to get the audio from the R2 DVD though.. The Warner Blu-ray came with a Dolby TrueHD mix, while the new Shout Factory 4K has a DTS-HD MA mix. Judging purely from the spectrogram, I'd give the Warner Bros the lead. The Shout Factory looks a little bit filtered. The 2.0 PCM from the LD is still awesome.
