FAQ
Have you included all the deleted shots/scenes available?
I tried to add as much as I can, but for some I haven't found a viable way to insert them - like Daniels' Xenomorph hunt; but 17m30s aren't that bad, don't you think?

Why have you added a Prometheus deleted scene?
Because I thought it fit better in this movie than in the previous one...

Why this release?
US viewers should wait more than a month for the official release, EU more than two; after that, it will take some time to make an extended edition; so, this is a provisional release waiting for a better one; indeed, probably we should wait many months for the open matte version, hence this could fill the big gap...

Why a video bitrate three times higher than original source?
Because some added shots have very high quality, this will help to preserve it - the extended scene is from Blu-ray, while The Last Supper and Meet Walter are from ProRes versions at very high bitrate; this is the minimum bitrate allowed to retain almost all the added grain intact.

Why include Prometheus promo stuff in covenant?
I see you answered deleted but the ted talk and meet David were promo.
The official release has deleted scenes, would it not be better to wait a little?

You can see this just a "fill the gap" release, as I wrote... TED speech fits quite well at the beginning; after that, "Meet Walter" was inserted, but cut at the right place, as it seems it's David "birth" and not Walter's... so, TED speech about AI, then AI "birth", then AI first moments... it flows... maybe these three scenes fit even better near Prometheus beginning.

Fair enough, I am shocked you have the time for all of these

I was working on Prometheus, watched Alien Covenant, so ideas come to mind... it took few hours actually to do that - three or four, maybe...

If you are a fan of Prometheus, you should see an expanded fan version, it will change the impression of the film.

I'm aware there are more than one extended edition; it would be nice to have one using the open matte as main source, though!

Now that the BD is out, it could be used as new source; options are:

a) this extended version "as is"
b) a new extended version, using only deleted scenes
c) this extended version minus "TED speech" (and maybe "Meet Walter") + deleted scenes
d) a "mega-maxi" extended version - this one + deleted scenes + eventual further material (if it fit)

could someone be interested?

Very, very interested. I know if people want to complain about stuff in these movies, there's stuff to complain about, but I don't care. I totally dig these movies and love watching the theatrical versions, the fan edits, etc. My humble vote goes to a mega-maxi extended version, if you're up for it. I guarantee there will be at least person who seriously appreciates it.
