Project Info:
Ok this is in the proposal stage since I want to hear some thoughts about what to include with this project.

Long story short, Zoidberg made a cap of his UK Virgin VHS tape of T1.

He said it was clearly from a release print since it had reel change markers. Now that doesn't mean that it is color accurate to a release print but it could be. The tape is still very, very green but unlike the current BD, brings back a lot of those Cameron blues.

The big question for me is what should I include on the audio side. I want to askew the 5.1 remix as it is terrible with its new gun sounds. So that would mean going with the mono soundtracks. With that in mind, here is the current list of ideas I have:

Video:
Take the colors of the tape regrade the BD and combine that with the luma of the BD for certain scenes and with a little polish from the 35mm frames that have been collected

Audio:
1. PCM 2.0 Mono (from the Image WS LD)
2. PCM 2.0 Mono (from the Japanese WS LD)
3. DTS-HD MA 2.0 (from the 2001 MGM SE DVD)
4. DTS-HD MA 2.1 (from the 1998 Image DVD)
5. DTS-HD MA 5.1 (from the BD)

Sync:
US BD with ENG subs

What about the image DVD mono?

If someone want to make it international, I could provide the German DVD mono. (slightly censored cut, but no dialogue missing)

Also the 2.0 audio in french and english from the first French DVD release... (TF1)

I am no one able to sync anything, just could help with the said audio tracks straight from the DVDs...

I think the two main definites here are the original laserdisc mono track along with the hybrid stereo track. Also, if it's any help, I have access to a rip of a Japanese laserdisc of the movie. I doubt it's any better if not worse than the laserdisc rip you have, but I think it's at least worth a peek. Just shoot me a PM if you're interested.

It was a German DVD.
Slightly censored when the Terminator cutted his eye...
It also has the german mono audio with original weapon shots...

Is this the same as the German DVD shown here? The one that has the cigarette burns and has a teal color timing?

Interesting. My Japanese Laserdisc rip is actually also has a 5:3 aspect ratio.



Unless I'm mistaken, it seems to be an open-matte scan. It's quite interesting since the cigarette burns are also included.



A shame there are Japanese subtitles overlayed on top.



Wish I knew what the exact release is as well...

Exactly. The one on the left, labeled only with "DE".

I'd be very interested to know how this compares to the sources you have as it's currently my go-to version of the movie.

Mine was a single pass with some scene specific changes, and I would assume PDB is going shot to shot with this. Either way, this will be great to compare with mine.

EDIT: As far as feedback on this proposal, I think it would be better to include the mono tracks as 1.0, since AFAIK it doesn't actually make a difference. The space saved would be small, but worth it IMO.
