If someone want to make it international, I could provide the German DVD mono. (slightly censored cut, but no dialogue missing)
Also the 2.0 audio in french and english from the first French DVD release... (TF1)
I am no one able to sync anything, just could help with the said audio tracks straight from the DVDs...

Also, there was a French or German DVD released a while back in the 1.66:1 ratio that was taken from a print
If I recall and please correct me if I'm wrong, the image disc is also a 2.1 (Dolby Digital) but not the same as the PCM 2.1 that appeared on the tehparadox? It is an unique mix. If so, I think the image soundtrack should be included, so I'm going to add it to the list.
I have no problem making this an international disc by including the German and French mono soundtrack if you can provide them MrBrown. I do have the German DVD in question as Tservo gave it to me years ago when I had in mind to use that as a color guide before ultimately rejecting it.
Honestly, I've never had to sync a non-English soundtrack before since every-time I asked for non-english tracks for my projects, no one has provided any. So this is a good opportunity for me. I normally sync via waveform instead of frame matching so I might need help from some of the crew here but I think I can get it done.

Also, if it's any help, I have access to a rip of a Japanese laserdisc of the movie. I doubt it's any better if not worse than the laserdisc rip you have, but I think it's at least worth a peek. Just shoot me a PM if you're interested.
Unless you think that there is something interesting/unique about or it just sounds better, I think I'm good. Thank you for the offer.

I'd be very interested to know how this compares to the sources you have as it's currently my go-to version of the movie.
Mine was a single pass with some scene specific changes, and I would assume PDB is going shot to shot with this. Either way, this will be great to compare with mine.
EDIT: As far as feedback on this proposal, I think it would be better to include the mono tracks as 1.0, since AFAIK it doesn't actually make a difference. The space saved would be small, but worth it IMO.
Yeah, I would like to point out I'm not trying to steal thunder from Dek. This project, if I complete it, will most likely stay here on fanres for the time being and not appear on the OT, BT or organ. I don't see it as competition but two different ways to approach the same thing.
It will be a frame by frame (and/or shot by shot) regrade to the tape with additional tweaking from the 35mm frames.
You know I had that thought of encoding 1.0 for the mono soundtracks. I ultimately decided not to because if you have a 5.1+ setup that means the soundtrack plays solely though your center channel, which is not always the most dynamic speaker. Encoding it in 2.0 means it plays through the mains which is more appealing. I might encode in DTS-HD MA to save space.
