Film logo preservation and talk thread
(2021-04-07, 03:56 AM)SpaceBlackKnight Wrote: That Uni logo is super easy to find and a good chunk of 1954-61 titles are on Blu that have one you seek per the video link. There's so many that going by title on Wikipedia and checking for a BD on Rewind or BD.com will help narrow down specific ones to check. Off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure Shout's This Island Earth BD is one that has 1.37 and 1.85 versions. Plus, I heard Shout's recent Brides of Dracula Blu has 1.66 and 1.85 versions.

Thanks. As I said, I have it in 1.66:1 already, I'm just trying to crop and upscale as little as possible, ideally not at all if there's any release with it in 16:9! I'll have a dig about.

1.85:1 would however be an improvement at least.

Another Big W query: anyone know of any Blu-rays containing this end credits variation in scope?

One for the Hong Kong movie experts: are either of these early Golden Harvest logos available in HD anywhere?

The top GH logo can be found on Hapkido (It's a Fortune Star upscale special, but better than nothing I suppose).

The bottom one is seen (in HD from a 35mm print) on the Japanese opening for Fist of Fury (a bonus on the Shout Selects and Criterion Blu-Rays).

And how about this version of Bruce Lee's Concord logo? There's a still-image version on the Criterion set, but is the fully-animated version out there somewhere in HD?

Sadly, no. Was there other productions by this Concord company or was WOTD the only thing they made?
