3D conversion forces to zoom on the sides since it as to use more left and right footage.
Top & Bottom aren't a problem since this is Super 35 however it's possible they had to zoom more on top as the common top line used for the film, didn't leave a lot of headroom, whereas the bottom has way more extra information.
I'm guessing the regular disc will not present that zoom, just the 3D presentation.
