This is not the *right* approach, IMHO!(despite the fact your correction final colors are nice, though!)
When I regraded The return of the Jedi, it needed some corrections; gamma, saturation, color etc. Some scenes where so badly faded that I used the BluRay as reference. I mean, that was a pristine print, and it needed work (some scenes quite a lot). We want prints to know how films looked in the theaters... but what if those prints need some work in the first place?
