I'll be curious to hear about a possible fix to the moire effect.
Meanwhile I cleaned up more blue spots that appeared during the intro showing the map of New York.

What software are you using. Evit?
The way I know to do it is to separate the luma from the chroma and blur the chroma a bit. Easy to do in After Effects but not sure in AVIsynth

I use Premiere to edit, so any effect that's not within the range of Premiere will have to be worked out on After Effects. Feel free to send me instructions if you have the time.

Also avisynth has a few de-rainbow filters you can try:

FYI, on October 6th, 2016 the movie will be re-released in Germany in a new Special Edition.
Could be interesting for some of you guys

I had a look on Amazon.de, from the reviews I gather that you also got that horrible European SD transfer with crushed blacks everywhere, a nightmare. That's why there's a Special Edition coming. I wouldn't be surprised if it's gonna be the American MGM version (with documentaries etc), I doubt Shout Factory leases its own transfers to others
