I'm working in After Effects to remove the blue line from Hauk's arrival scene. It requires a combination of different techniques but I now believe it's possible

I followed instrutions on moire effect removal but it doesn't seem to help with our scene. I'll ask my expert friend on saturday but I'll probably have to create a mask and replace it with the MGM.

Does anyone have the MGM Bluray and can extract for me those few seconds where on the Shout BR the "moire effect" appears? It happens when Snake is standing at the door in Hauk's office, before he sits down... this scene:

I'm working on the removal of moiré effect and since I couldn't find any automated method to remove it convincingly, again, I'm now fixing it frame by frame. What a pain in the arse.
In any case, I had these comparison screen shots at hand which I hope will help putting an end to the discussion on which transfer is better, MGM or Shout, since there are people still convinced that the old negative-sourced MGM transfer should contain more details just because it comes from a negative, while the Shout should be less detailed (in theory) because it "only" comes from an interpositive... and I'm not even judging the terrible crushed black levels of the MGM, nor its reframing that cuts out part of the image... who needs to see that sword on the right of the screen after all, right?
You can judge the details by zooming on the wooden board on the right of the screen, behind the flag.

Yep, that MGM is such a crappy transfer.

Ever someone checked, how the Korean release compared to the Shout Release? AFAIK it has some slightly different bitrate. Maybe it is a different compression, without moiree...
