Anyone wanna check out, there is a new documentary, The Madness of Max, out now on Amazon and VUDU. It's three hours long and about the first film!

I've only recently been made aware of this project. Me and a friend were taking on our own project for a custom BD edition of Mad Max 2, for it I've sourced the 1983 UK LaserDisc release for the theatrical audio (Which I believe is the unrated cut) as well as the Japanese DVD for the extra feature (The Chase Continues featurette). - Would any of that come in handy for this project?

Thanks Mass5160, I appreciate your generous offer but I think I'm good. A member here, Jonno, was nice enough to provide me with the older pan and scan LD's PCM track and the newer widescreen LD's PCM track. He found out that the widescreen LD's soundtrack is mastered at a higher level and all together sounds a bit better then the older p&s track. So that is the one I'm using.

One question, is that the Japanese DVD with the longer Pappagallo speech?

As for the extended Pappagallo speech, I believe the Japanese DVD I have uses the exact same master as the US DVD.

Still working on it. I ran into problem grading the middle of the film. So I put it aside to finish other projects. Once Aliens is done I plan to pick it up again.

It's actually 156min long Wink

I bought it on iTunes and now it's DRM-free 8-)

Anyway... As for PDB's project: I'm looking forward to the finished project

There's supposed to be a new documentary on the road warrior/mad max 2 coming out with the new high octane boxset. Wonder if there will be any interesting new footage or if it's gonna be mostly interviews. I really hope they have some dailies etc. in the doc itself.
