Fantastic, would love a noir version! Tell me, are the VFX shots cropped in the 4/3 disc? Because if they are, it could be cool to replace them with the 1.77:1 shots from the DVD to make it kind like BTFF version.

VFX look to be shot in 4:3. For example, the matte paintings and models show a lot more vertical detail while they lose at the sides. So no BTTF situation here, sadly.

Lovely idea. Looks wonderful in some shots, but overall a very weird and striking experience after all these years of watching the 80's styles in color.
I had meant to get the old flippers for all four for completeness sake; guess I still need to. But every time I go back and look at the 16x9 copy of this one it brings all those old early WB dvds to mind with all their nastiness. Is there any chance of taking a stab at Returns and Forever later on?

I have an idea, believe it or not, LOL.
If you're going to include a B&W version, why not attempt to make it like a 3 or 4 part serial, each with a little recap at the beginning? Would that idea be considered noir?

If you have a Big Lots store in your area, the old Batman flipper discs still turn up. Warner's must still have a warehouse full of them!

Big Lots is a great place to find little treasures like that. I have one about 12 minutes from where I live. I got 2 of the Star Trek Fan Favorite DVD sets for cheap there.

I love the effect!
The b&w just works great with the contrast tweaks and grain plate. Would love to see this in 1080p on my 52" HDTV... |
