Yep I remember. But this was the old master. They probably rescanned the film and re-composited the text element separately.
If the elements appeared, we could do localised versions of those

Also they don't use the same text as the french voice over, so the two don't match when you play the french dub LOL

I think theoretically if you collected enough different titles, you might be able to find all the empty spaces via masks and get a clean image. However the font is pretty bold so it probably wouldn't work quite as well as it might if it was some thin font covering less image.

Another thing worth noting that I haven't seen anyone mention on any movie message board: sometimes I find clips of the tech-noir shootout that has the original mono shotgun blast sound effect, but everything else is still the 5.1 sound effects (sub-machine gun, the metal ricochet of the shotgun shells hitting the endo's frame, etc...). Sometimes it's youtube clips, sometimes it's on tv. If anyone checks it out on Amazon prime, would you please make a note of it during that particular scene?

The DCP I saw last year had the right gun sounds.

We did try using the UK DVD but it's a nightmare and we couldn't pull it off.
