What I am wondering about: do the French BluRays of "The Lord of the Rings" have localized titles / credits? (as the DVDs did).

Thanks for the info!
I am also wondering, where this French tradition of full credit localization originates from. In Germany, they stopped localizing credits by the beginning of the 80s. But in France, they still very much do it, especially in TV series.

It did not stop in the 80s.
Depending on the movie and companie some Movies still get full localized title credits. I remember Deadpool being completely localized in the Starting Credits, and was very sad, when the BD wasnt localized. The original Amazon Deadpool Version had localized german cast&crew credits.

Depending on the company releasing the Blu-ray, if it's a French one, it still often happens that they use a French master with localized texts: John Wick, John Wick 2 with their fancy subtitles (not John Wick 3 though, still in English, yet it's the same company). However, when broadcasted on TV, we usually get French localized opening titles and space/time information for movies that got released by international companies that use English masters on Blu-ray: Deadpool, Deadpool 2, Jason Bourne...

Yes, I know, there are some odd exceptions. But it's not nearly comparable to France.

My bad, I just realized I was talking about the ones from Belgium. The French Extended Cut BDs at least do have localized titles and end credits. I can't be sure about the theatrical cuts as I may have the ones from Belgium, too.

Hello all. I case of absence of localised original elements, can reproductions be accepted here (for titles and end credits) ?
Thanks to share your opinion.

The new The Good, the Bad and the Ugly from Arrow has the French opening and ending credits in the bonus section but it's in fake HD sadly. Probably the same source used for French broadcasting on France 3 in recent past years. And it doesn't include the on-screen French "names" of our 3 protagonists, neither for their introductions nor for their departures.
