If necessary, I can help with the Japanese edition.

Thanks guys, I get it!
Almost ready to release this, stay tuned! Note: due to Japanese censor law, I had to replace two brief shots; at the end, every d**k should be preserved! (pun intended!)

Do you mean whether you should use the French track from the IT DVD (if there is one) or whether you should use the .1 channel? If you mean the whole track, why not just included as an optional one? It's not like AC3 takes up a lot of space. If you mean replacing the .1 channel, I'd say do it if it sounds good to your ears and is in sync.
Have no opinion about Italian track. Hmm, wasn't the Spanish track upmixed from some shoddy MP3 type rip that was horribly out of sync? I thought we only wanted to use it for some kind of channel replacement fuckery. Japanese ... I'd say include AC-3 and add an extra FLAC file for those who want to mux in the lossless JP (PCM to FLAC and vice versa is easy after all, plus it's a smaller download than DTS-HD MA) Iirc I did some comparisons of the French tracks back then but I really can't remember my conclusions. Think I was most concerned with some dynamic range problems and/or clipping on some of the BDs.

I should have been clearer... the Italian DVD has a very active .1 channel, while the BD .1 is active sparsely... it seems like they are from two different mixes... I *think* that a more active sub channel would be appreciated, then replacing the .1 channel of the BD using the IT DVD *should* sound punchier... yet, I decided to leave it untouched!
Spanish: it was just the DVD 2.0 audio; using your SDU4 decode, along with DVD IT sub and surround channels, it sound quite good! Japanese: no problems to upload somewhere the lossless (FLAC version) 2.0 track - but I wonder, who could be interested in it alone? Subtitles: I worked very hard to get them... apart the usual conversions from various formats, French was a pain in the... neck; it was a SDH, with no clear distinction between "sound & noise" description, and dialog, and most of the latter was all upper case; so, I got to convert to lower case, and find out where to place right accents... madness! And, last but not least, I have NOT found the Italian one!!! Searched everywhere, but nothing... I can't/won't release it without subs in my own language, so last resource would be to prepare them by myself and I'm not so keen in these days... hence why this delay, sorry to anyone! But, it lacks only that one - apart a fan-made English track... anyone (crazy enough)? At the end, final regraded video is very good, with just an hint of imperfection here and there, still, perfect for this kind of movie - that I barely remembered, and I appreciated it; cartoonesque uber-violence is quite funny, and director used some interesting visual techniques.

Incredible. There truly seem to be no Italian subtitles anywhere. I don't believe it.
Either way, how about this: https://www.amazon.it/Dobermann-Tcheky-K...B0041KXWT6 Quote:Lingua: Francese, Italiano Sottotittily? Sounds about right no?

Subtitles will be ready soon...
Meanwhile... I'm restless, so searching and searching, I've found a VERY UGLY version; it is an Italian copy - from Italian film; quality is dreadful, image cropped on left, right, and top, BUT... it should be a direct telecine, and, when used as color reference, gives a very pleasing result: http://www.framecompare.com/image-compar...n/W6ZGNNNX (disregard the frame with magenta street, it's due to a corruption in the file, will be replaced with the DE regrade). It's interesting to note that in most of the shots, colors are closer to DE, but others are closer to BD but with a lot less green; overall, I like it very much. Opinions? If someone wants a specific frame, I'm here! |
