Yeah, forget what I said. That does look more film-like. It seems difficult to replicate the look of film in a 4K Blu-ray accurately.

It's not that difficult. But they rarely try to, that's the problem. First thing to do: never involve the director or DP, that's for sure, as they pretty much always rewrite history which is the opposite of the goal to achieve. Second thing to do: scan the interpositive instead of the original negative so that the real colors are already there. Alternate second thing to do: scan the original negative but provide the interpositive or an unfaded print for color reference to competent people, let's say Sony Pictures or Arrow, and don't get involved in what they do. Done.
