Blu-ray subtitle conversion tool (sub2bd)
#11
Check out the script.avs file that's generated in the same directory as the exe. You should see the actual framerate sub2bd is giving it specified in there. He may just be rounding it up for display, but let me double check things.

24000/1001 is the right value for 23.976fps.

Jesus! It even knows how to interpret the {\fad(x,y)} tags! That's amazing, bronan.

Well, it's at least passing the correct value from the app now for you.

So there are 2 places framerate is needed, 1st is on the command-line parameters for avs2bdnxml, and the 2nd is the one used in the AVS script. The command-line one is very clear in his directions what it should be (23.976, 24, 25, etc). The one in the AVS script though is the one I'm not so sure about. In his example he's getting the framerate from the video itself, not a manual input like we're doing, so I'm not sure exactly what value its expecting there. I tried doing 24000/1001 as spoRv suggested, but I see 23.00fps as reported framerate in avs2bdxml then. Who knows how he's deriving that framerate though... Well, anyway I'm going to try running using the video for the framerate directly and see what his tool reports then. Maybe just some extra precision (pre-calculating the 24000/1001 fully out) would be the answer..

You're becoming my favorite guy on Earth, dude. Will you then create something equivalent for side-by-side and top/bottom 3D? That would be cool, too.

I don't want to take credit for avs2bdnxml author's hard work, he's the real wizard.  I just made a little front-end to make it easier to use Smile

Someone mentionned avs2bdnxml to me a while back, but since I had not found a GUI, I gave up on it and used EasySUP instead. So, you pretty much create the simple GUI I wanted.

Great, glad to hear. What tool is best for SRT to ASS conversion? I definitely think I like that approach best rather than trying to include it all in the app.

For SRT to ASS conversion, I just use the oldfashioned Subtitle Workshop. And then I copy/paste my usual style line in the notepad, such as:
Style: Default,Futura STD Medium,19,&H00FFFFFF,&H00000000,&H00000000,&H00000000,0,0,0,0,100,100,0,0,1,0,3,2,15,15,43,0

I also use an old version of Xvid4PSP to emulate the burning-in of the ASS, so that I can adjust the placement of some subtitles (also in notepad) to align them perfectly with other inscriptions, you know, like space and time information, left and right, as in Rogue One, for instance. I used to use that to actually burn my subs on my videos, but I no longer have to do that, thanks to EasySUP and now thanks to you.

The following are burnt-in examples, but now with your GUI, it would look pretty much the same, with variation in placements and fonts :
