[Proposal] Mad max (1979) audio preserv
The original UK release had the AIP dub. There are contemporary reviews that point out how 'off' it sounded. Since Warner (and its various local conglomerates) handled distribution across most of Europe, I'd say they likely took the M&E master from AIP and regionalised the dialogue.

There's a good chance that only Aus (and presumably NZ) had the Aus mix on the film's original release.

Updated the first post. Possibly yes, though I read on RetroMike video comments, a youtuber says the Warner Oz dub is not 100% using all the US dub foley and sounds. The guy probably didn't compare with the foreign mixes, so I need to dive in those which may take time, but if every foreign mix match with the Warner Oz mix, it's possible another M&E track was created after the original release, that was used for re-releases worlwide, and considered superior enough to be the go to tracks by Warner Europe.

It doesn't match 100%. As I had said my post above, the scene where it cuts to the coffin at the train station contains the screech on the Warner Oz dub but not US/foreign ones.

However most other things do match like dropping the shotgun, shotgun to the biker, the music cue when toecutter and bubba are ride off and cuts to Max's legs.
