I still see some fluctuation in colors and for example the next to last shot (long shot) look drained of color.
I'm not sure you will be able to ditch that colored on bw look, it's baked in the 4K version I think.

I think alot of the color problems your having is because of the HDR to SDR conversion.
When I viewed HDR films on my SDR setup using MAD-VR Id often got what a few of us would call 'Salmon Face'. This has however improved dramaticlly with the last version of MAD-VR. Perhaps you could try a different method of converting HDR to SDR?

That's it, the shot of the old woman behind the car for example is totally salmon!

Then maybe to regrade bluray?

The Blu is in bad shape too... Maybe it could be cool to use the Warner DVD chroma pasted over HD, and just crop conform it like the Warner DVD.
I myself do not care about the extra image, I think they show too much on the Blu-ray / HDR version.

I guess the perfect skin tone would never be reached with this regrade, it seems - yet, the DVD is far to be perfect, by the way...
But now colors are improved; the old woman salmon face is still not perfect, but a lot better than before IMHO. Also, aligning DVD chroma with UHD (or BD) luma is a good idea, on paper, but, as they have different geometry, it will not work properly... I guess the following solutions are available:
Now, someone want to waste time with another test clip? If so, let me know - it will always take few hours to encode and upload it somewhere... meanwhile, ask for new screenshots, if you want to see if a certain problematic shots is now solved or not.

Wow yes, I think there could be a way to make it perfect, color match both versions on top of another, shot by shot, using Resolve, but as you say, will take a while.
