EDIT: I just got the 2005 DVD for the DTS track. Was a pain to Sync up.

Hi,

Did you have to resynch the true HD 5.1, from the original bluray, to fit the remastered?

and what difference is there between the Dolby true HD from the original bluray, and the dts track form the 2005 Dvd...
is it any better?

But word is the lossy 5.1 is a downmix of the new track.
What options do we have? The JP LD sounded better to me than the US one, anyone know any more?
Yeah, it's true and people are livid at Warners, but people are hoping that they listen to fans and put the 2009 mix on the 4K boxset. Just don't get your hopes too high. There's was options I did have and take by riping the 2019 bluray, the 2009 bluray, and 2005 2 Disc DVD, used the audio from both the 2005 audio and 2009 bluray audio, and made a MKV file. I can't do anything about the teal color grading, but to me it's the lesser 2 evils.

1. No, it fits almost perfectly.
2. The TrueHD Track is a bit week, the DTS track is more robust. (Then Again it's DTS, what do you expect.)

DTS is just a codec, it doesn't affect a mix other than through compression artifacts. TrueHD is lossless. If the DTS sounds better, it's because it's a better mix.

Yeah, IMHO the DTS track from the 2005 DVD was a better mix.
EDIT: What is your favorite mix of the movie? (The LD, 1997 DVD, 2005 DVD, or 2009 Blu-Ray?)

ok, thank you Wink

i have the 2005 dvd, but it's been so long since i watched it than i completely forgot it got both 5.1 track: Dts and Dobly digital..
At that time, i had just a dolby digital amp (and no dts), so i never listened to the Dts track... Sad  (then i bought the bluray, and never looked back to this 2005 edition...)

Might be cool to add that track to the options...
Did you have a lot of trouble to synch it?
i never ever synched a track so i don't know if i'll be able to do it, and my dvd is pal, so i'll have to corect the pal speed up first.. Confused

I have the r1 version of the 2005 DVD, after a few tries change the delay to 700 ms to both the DTS and Dobly Digital track. So you might have to corect the speed up on your disc.

thanks again!
it's worth the try...
worst case scenario, i'll bought the r1 dvd... Rolleyes

Speaking of, i ordered recently the 1997 region 1 dvd, because i read that the 5.1 dolby digital track on it, is the same mix as the LD but encoded in 5.1...
So even if it's a lossy track it might be another good option, and one more track to add...
Can't wait to compare it the other tracks, when i'll received that dvd...

The point of Batman 1989's original sound design is to add Gotham's 1940's look with modern tech slaped on to it. Batman is supposed to be the one with the modren technology at his use, meanwhile the cops, Joker, the gangsters have older sounding weapons. Taking that away is just wrong for the movie.
