The frame grab is from the trailer which is open matte. No other open matte version of T2 exist, just the trailers.

Someone here on this message board did one of those 'splice' edits where they took the resolutions from each different version and put them together. Those images where the corners are still black since there's more info and the top and bottom in full-frame versions, but obviously more on the left and right. Forget what it's called but I've seen a lot of those screencaps on this board for various films (The Matrix, Top Gun, et al).

The Bigelow reason is Cameron work became more mature after he became a couple with Bigelow. You can see the difference between T1 & T2, as T2 is more serious about the themes, more "socially responsible". Gale was definetely an influence in the B movie spirit of both Terminator & Aliens.

Meh, even at 7 years old when I saw T2 in theaters, I walked out disappointed and couldn't figure out why. Decades later I realized what it is, I prefer the B movie style of T1 moreso than the "mainstream appeal" aspects that T2 has. Now that I think about it, I was gonna call my fan edit "T2: 80's Edition" or "T2: Synthwave edit", but now I think I may call it either "T2: B-movie edit" or "T2: De-Bigelow edition" LOL. Thanks given by: Stamper

I'd watch that edit. Have you made a thread about it anywhere? |
