Yeah, but why would there be two different 4.1 mixes? I imagine one 2.0 can be a downmix of 5.1, the other - original 35mm stereo, or yet another downmix. But two different 4.1? Makes no sense to me.

According to the booklet that came with the Arrow, they definitively state the 4.1 mix is the 70mm mix, but when it comes to the 2.0 mix they're silent - just that it was supplied by Universal. It makes you wonder if even they know.

The 2.0 mix is the Dolby Stereo from the 35mm print, no?

I think it's fair to say at this point that the only 2.0 track that we can be sure is the original is the Widescreen LD.

Except for the poorly remixed reel with the replaced song, so even that isn't complete.

Sorry, but are we talking about "Superstitious" song? If so, the Signature laserdisc has it.

The Signature is a fold-down of the remixed 5.1, though. A hybrid might get closer to the original, but still not the real deal.

Ok, so we're back to trying to figure out if any of the BDs have the original 2.0 then.

Do you have a link to "prove" it?

Oh, so difficult to prove which-is-which when so many track versions are around!

It was observed by moshrom in the thread for my BD-sync of the signature (I won't post a link to that forum area here).

So not proof per se, but I trust his ears.
