[In progress] TERMINATOR 2 Blu-ray regrade to 35mm

So vomit-inducing, yeah, I guess. For those scenes in Pescadero during the day, I have mixed sources and testimonies: some bluer, some greener. That's why I keep changing stuff, I have no certainty regarding those.

Let's think about it. This is a psychiatric hospital—a place where people with mental health issues are kept and treated. People with mental health issues are susceptible to anything that triggers an emotional outburst. Green or apple-colored are irritating. Especially since the orderlies' uniforms are WHITE. Rebalancing the white balance, we notice that the walls in Pescadero are soft pink, beige, and cream. No harsh colors, especially not those vomit-inducing ones. The atmosphere in the hospital was exacerbated by the fact that the orderlies BEAT and RAPED patients.

Unless that reasoning comes from a 1991 interview with James Cameron or Adam Greenberg regarding how the film looked like, I don't care about it. I only care about how it looked like in the cinemas in 1991, and for now all I have to rely on are different looks on four 35mm scans and viewer testimonies who attended more recent screenings.

Will the cut be the Special Edition version or just the Theatrical?

Theatrical, Special Edition, Extended Special Edition and a custom cut is the plan.
However I'm putting it on hold for now as another 35mm scan exists (misleadingly labeled as Super-35) that could be an even better reference that I wasn’t able to find yet. So if you can help with that, please come forward.

@anatomized, it's the one referenced here that I need to check: https://fanrestore.com/thread-6893-post-...l#pid97499
I already have 4 others 35mm scans.

Okay, I got the misleadingly labeled "Super 35mm" scan now. It's gonna be a head-scratcher to average all the scans available to determine which look is the likely one to go for, especially in daytime scenes. At night, they basically all look about the same.

On a private forum, it has since been removed but i was able to get it before it was taken down.

It is IMHO the best colour reference we have for the theatrical print plus has all the soundtrack versions.

Do you happen to have information on that release? Was there some comments regarding the color grading? Did they say they intervened in any way to emulate how it would look projected? Did they say on the contrary that they kept the scan as is?
It is indeed a very good reference, a better one than the Rutracker one regarding the outside of the bar for instance, as it doesn’t look as dark and green. The 1st Pescadero scene is rather brownish with a bit of pink reflections in the corridors. However the 6 month review scene is rather green. And the outside shots with John and his friend on the bike, Arnold locating them and the T1000 asking girls in the street look about like the 2017 remaster and rather cold unlike the other outside shots, before and after, that look much warmer. I'll also have to compare more extensively the steel factory as it seems this one is more orangy than yellow unlike the Rutracker one and the print I saw in 2015. I'll have to make some choices, it seems. Of course there's the option to make one choice for the theatrical cut and another choice for another cut, SE, Extended SE and custom cut...
