I think I'll do both, unless someone tells me how to retain the black levels even with the use of this film LUT in the process. 'Cause I really want to do it that way, I like the film look very much, plus it'll be way faster as I found a tweek that already looks good on most of the film as is that only requires further tweeking shot by shot, and the result is very convincing and close to the 35mm scan reference. The bar scene was challenging in matching Arnold shots with each other when facing the cigar-smoking biker. You'd think in a controlled lighting environment, one correction would work on all similar shots, but nope! I finally managed to reach a satisfying match. I'm quite amazed how close to the 35mm source I can get now. It's very gratifying how cool it looks. I should finish the 1st reel by the end of the week:
