No Time To Die [Open Matte]
#31
Yep. I think there were some IMAX shots in the climax because the publicity advert for the film showed a shot from the climax to demonstrate the differences.

The first shot of Bond's boat in Jamaica was definetely IMAX.

I saw in laser, only the opening and one shot in Jamaica were opened up

That's weird LOL. I'm guessing this open the door to "fanres" IMAX versions.

People doing the projects can pick any IMAX shot they choose!

Very odd because it was widely reported as having 30-40 minutes of IMAX scenes.

Remember The Last Jedi also had IMAX scenes but were all cropped to 2.39:1, so they did not use the verticality of the IMAX ratio. We could be in the same situation here in some scenes.

I remember going to see it in 70mm IMAX and thinking "why are no shots opened up anywhere". A shame for a film like that.

Together with the stuff that was shot on 5-perf at 2.20:1 (which was shown 1.9:1 - but cropped on the sides with a little bit more top and bottom, like on that fixed 16:9 version), the opening, the quick Jamaica bit and the Cuba set piece are 40 mins in total.

Just to clarify that those three bits were the only sequences that 'opened up' in the theatrical release. There may be more that we don't know about that may be possible to open up from the fixed 16:9 version, but aside from info from a camera operator interview which mentioned the Norway chase, which may be mistaken, there isn't really much evidence right now that anything past the Cuba stuff was filmed on IMAX or 65mm.

I think it should be perfectly easy to point the parts out just by comparing both versions and doing a mash-up.

If nothing past the Cuba scenes was opened, that's fine, one only has to breeze through the rest of the footage comparing it to be sure.
