I just went to compare it to the 35 mm and realised I don't think this shot is in the first film at all. Is the framing different for all 3 of the films for the UHD, or just whatever film this is from?

IIRC the BD transfers were overseen by the original cinematographer not the Wachowskis. It's why the colors are closer to the original films than the special edition recolor or whatever they call it.
I'd trust the framing. But I guess there is nothing wrong with a hybrid AR. Thanks given by: pipefan413

I have no idea what it was, but I recall people moaning about the Blu-rays when they came out. I never bought them because the DVD box set was so much more extensive with loads and loads of extras etc. and since then I've seen it in the cinema (new 4K restoration) and as a 35 mm scan (which is pretty scratched up but I didn't care because it was great seeing the colour more like it was in the first place etc.) - so I've never actually watched the Blu-rays at all. Perhaps if you're remembering correctly I should grab the old Blu-ray after all... from those screencaps, it certainly looks like it's as just about as tinted as it is on 35 mm, although there's a whole lot more photochemical yellow on the Kodak/Eastman print as there usually is.

Hey everyone,
I saw a while back that someone scanned an open matte trailer for the Matrix and it got me thinking about this project. Here it is if anyone wants to check it out (I love the color grading of it!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GdG4Ryt9ro

Great colors - probably it's not how the film was supposed to look, but I like that color palette a lot more than any green blanket!!!
