I just discovered this now and I was wondering if this is a British or an American print. What logo is on reel 1? I think all the Blu-ray and DVD releases have the New World Pictures logo and it seems like it would be more accurate to have the Entertainment Film Distributors one because the film is British.

Distributors
• New World Pictures (1987) (USA) (theatrical)
• Aim Pictures (1995) (India) (theatrical)
• Entertainment Film Distributors (1987) (UK) (theatrical)

At long last, I present to you all a proper release of the Hellraiser scan!
[Image: Hellraiser-1987-35mm-Preservation-Projec...-50-41.jpg]
This HEVC encode is presented to you in Rec.2100 PQ in an open-matted UHD render (as certain effects shots from the Frank resurrection sequence are the only times on the print where hard-matting is particularly visible). The SDR thumbnail above was generated by Mad-VR with the peak nit set to 400 Clipping so if you're looking for any tone mapping recommendations, I suppose you could take that into consideration (though running the MKV through VLC gets solid results as well on my end).

Unfortunately due to a lack of a consistent reference, I admittedly didn't bother trying to manually adjust each of the reel's color grading to counteract against the scanner's reel-by-reel auto-balancing, so there may be some visible shifting in the overall color balance from time to time. I should also note that the HDR layer as a whole was rather problematic unfortunately. More often than not it was misaligned so I had manually nudge it but you may notice some garish haloing if you pixel-peek. Also, due to a file-copying mishap that must've occurred ages back when I first received the RAW scans that went unnoticed until recently, the HDR layer on the fourth reel was missing several thousands of frames, so you'll probably notice some noisy flickering towards the latter half of the reel.

Anyways, moving on from those minor humps, I'd like to note the synced-up tracks available as part of this release:

  1. 35mm print's optical
  2. Arrow BD's 2.0 & 5.1 tracks
  3. Polish DVD 2.0 (provided by @MrBrown)
  4. PAL VHS 2.0 (provided by @zoidberg)
  5. Turbine BD's 2.0 & 5.1 German dub (provided by @TomArrow)
  6. Russian Gavrilov dub (provided by @spoRv)

Alongside these tracks are subtitles from the Arrow and Turbine releases for English and German viewers respectively.

If you've donated previously, please send me a message as I've been having a hard time keeping track of who helped out years ago.
