I just compared the new 18% grain version with the 25% grain version.
In my opinion 18% is not enough. I'd increase it to 22%.

In the encoding settings maybe set tuning to grain instead of film, i found it helps more. Like thegroovologist said, go higher with the grain setting.

Agreed. I checked the 18% one and thought it wasn't enough, then I checked the 25% one and I felt that it was perhaps too much, between the two I definately prefer the 25% one. I'd test 22% like thegroovologist suggests.

Thanks for the feedbacks, guys!

Here you are the 22% clip: https://www.sendspace.com/file/d57gx3

even if 22% is really near to 25% about grain, at least the new version has some deblock and drop-out removal, so another encoding was necessary... hope it will be the last! Wink

Thanks, Andrea.
Ok...I just compared the 25% with the 22% version on my Samsung F8090 TV.
In my opinion the 25% version looks better, more organic.
My vote goes to using the 25% version. It looks great on my Samsung TV.

Due to the fact that I'm in middle of emcoding my project, I haven't been on here to respond sooner and then I realized that I can just borrow my wife's laptop... LOL

I downloaded all samples, viewed them on the 52" HDTV and agree with thegroovologist that the "original" settings at 25 percent look the most "organic."

If it ain't broke, don't fix it Smile

Leaving it at 25% as i said before does look the best.

Just checked the 22% clip and I agree with the others, the 25% clip looks better, you should go with that one IMHO.

At the end, I learned two things:

I should trust myself more
I should change this little sh***y monitor ASAP!!!

At least, I discovered that a deblock and a dropout removal was needed... OK, let's go with the latest.encoding at 25%... it will be ready in "just" 2 days...  :-/
