Grand Prix (1966) - Remastered Trailer |

Here is another ooooooold project that I just recently finished. I've started the restoring of the trailer in 2011, but I never finished the end title sequence. Well, I did it a few weeks ago and now it's finally released.
Except for one scene, this trailer is accurate to the original one. One scene needed to be replaced due a lot of text in it.
Enjoy

Back to the Future (1985) - Full trailer |

The 4K set is now here and I had hopes Universal would finally include the full trailer for BTTF. But once again we got nothing in that regard.
On Youtube there is one version of it available, but the quality, especially audio, is pretty bad. So maybe someone here has a better version. Maybe on VHS that can captured, which could be used to restore the trailer to it's full glory*
Please let me know
Trailer on YouTube
And yes, I know of the re-edits of the trailer on YT. The source is from a re-edit, but with even worse audio quality and trailer credits aren't recreated at all. The above video shows the real deal.
*Overall the trailer is kinda meh. But considering the importance of the movie it's defiantly something we shouldn't ignore.

17:9 displays? |

Lately I was thinking about the fact that 17:9 is (almost) the "perfect" ratio for UAR that uses 1.78:1 and 2.39:1; sure, it will have both sides black (pillarbox) when the open matte is full, still in many instances the UAR "cross" would touch all the sides - wherever within 16:9 frame it touches only the sides, leaving black borders on top and bottom...
Anyway, I started to look around for 17:9 displays, and so far what I discovered is: - 2K projectors (2048x1080) were released only as cinema projector (read: $$$$)
- 4K projectors (4096x2160) consumers are only available as LCOS (AFAIK) - D-ILA by JVC, SXRD by Sony, starting around 5000$; they are available also as cinema projector ($$$$+$)
- 2K flat panels I didn't find any
- 4K flat panels I found only relatively small monitors (up to 31"), not counting the wet dream of many, the Panasonic 152" plasma sold brand new a bit south of 700,000$ - but found used at bargain price of 40,000€
Is anyone aware of any LED/OLED/plasma display (old models too) starting from at least 50" size?

Enable default subtitles on a Blu-ray |

I want to enable the English subtitle stream by default on a foreign language movie.
I didn't see this option in tsmuxer so I tried to use BDEdit (wow this app is cryptic). Followed this guide:
Code: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/365145-How-to-turn-on-subtitle-by-default-on-movie-only-BD-R#post2328339
...but it doesn't work.
I even found this tool called "Edit Default BD Tracks". That doesn't work either.
Are there any other tools which can do this reliably?

Hey guys.
I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been contributing over at TheStarwarstrilogy.com for a while and more or less lurking over at OT. I've done exactly one fan edit, a feature length Mandalorian based on the first three episodes from season 1 where I had to create a couple of shots from scratch to fix cuts.
I've also done a "special edition" Blu Ray of the Holiday Special and the HBO film Cast A Deadly Spell. All of these are over at Starwarstrilogy.
I also do cover artwork as well for releases and make them for my stuff. These are also on SWT.
Anyhoo. I'm always excited to see new stuff and releases that you can't get anywhere else so hopefully this will be fun.
Cheers
