Hello everyone,👋
I’m interested in fan custom rips with audio tracks from VHS and LaserDisc sources. I don’t have a big collection yet, but I hope to build one over time.
I’ve seen that several people here create custom repacks, and I want to thank them for all the work they do. They dedicate a huge amount of time to bring us these films, and a simple thank-you can really encourage them to keep going!🫡
I try to share as much as I can, and thank you all for the warm welcome!✌️

Hi.
I happened upon a YouTube upload of an old kung fu movie that's stuck in rights hell. The movie has had DVD releases but in either full screen or cropped widescreen. The YouTube upload is a Japanese VHS that's actually wider than the UK DVD. It may be OAR or at least the closest to it.
YouTube makes it harder to contact uploaders, so in lieu of somehow arranging a higher quality source to work from or trying to find an original copy of the tape, is it worth working with a YouTube rip?
For what it's worth, the letterboxed DVD of this one did get a well done fan restoration/upscale. It looks quite nice, but I'd be lying if I didn't say it'd be nice to see the movie in a less cropped state.
Appreciate any feedback or thoughts.

I love movie restorations, but a lot of them are just plain terrible. Glad to see a community dedicated to preserving the originals as they were intended.

Hello everyone,
I'm a passionate film enthusiast, yet I wasn't of aware of the size of the fan restoration community.
Given the technology available today and the remarkable talent of some people, I’m not sure why this surprised me.
In any case, I'm truly in awe of the immense dedication and effort that must have gone into these projects, and I’m very much looking forward to experiencing and appreciating the results.
