I will release the whole thing eventually, I'm just holding out on a rip of the LD PCM (and maybe AC3) by zoidberg and maybe the LD DTS by spoRv. Also, I had some fancy idea on something special I wanna do with it, but I don't yet have all the stuff required to do so.

Hi Tom, what's the project? I was under the impression you were just comparing sources. Perhaps it's time to start a new thread to propose your project.

I do have the AC3 laserdisc now and do intend to capture the audio tracks, but realistically it won't be anytime soon. I have too much other stuff on at the moment and of course it's the most wonderful time of the year coming up. What I can say is from what little I have heard of the LD so far is I like it. I like it a lot

Yeah it kinda started out as comparing audio to have a nice surround and headphone track. So far the Cinema DTS is the best one. Then I had the idea to do a soundtrack-only track, which I'm also working on. But I can't complete that one without a certain ingredient which I can't afford at the moment, so that may have to wait till January. And then I figured, hell, if I have a Cinema DTS track, why not also do a regrade. So I'll be buying myself a 35mm trailer next month and using DrDre's tool to make a LUT. I have a simple 35mm scanner at home. Meant for photos originally, but it will do for a few frames.

I also realized that the rip I found had already synced Criterion commentary tracks, so that's a plus. Well, and you mentioned getting the LD with AC3 and PCM and I figured, now that I have so many cool audio tracks, it would be kind of a nice addition, for completeness' sake. The PCM could also be unfolded with my new SDU4 decoder to give a faithful alternative 5.1/4.0 track. Hope I don't come across as rude by having assumed you would rip and share the tracks. If so, I apologize, that wasn't my intent. And if it takes some time, that's totally cool. Do you think February is realistic? That's when I may have all the stuff together for my soundtrack-track and the regrade on its way. Now that you've said you like the LD, I'm definitely curious, haha!

As for creating a project page, I thought I'd wait until I have all the materials needed. Too much attention makes me nervous and unmotivated. But maybe I'll just wait till I have the trailer next month, so I can at least present a little something. I think that I could be comfortable with.

Cool. Sounds like you've got enough to keep you busy, I'm happy to capture the LD I just didn't want to be in a situation where I'm keeping a project back. But over the New Year shouldn't be a problem.
