Ok, thanks for letting us know, maksnew, so there is still a project open here for PDB to combine the bluray and your excellent WEB-DL.

Started looking at the new Amazon source. On top of most scenes being apparently cropped (I haven't verified, I'm just assuming?), there are hardcoded German forced subs. In scenes where a location name is shown, it's shown twice - in English and German.
So some cleanup will have to be done for a really good version - possibly even using the HDTV sources?

I thought this release was going to have shifting aspect ratios. So seems my project is still needed. If someone can point the way I'd finish this damn project.

Point which way? To the WEB-DL?

@maksnew I noticed the WEB-DL has x264 encoding settings in it. Does Amazon keep those or is it really a WEBRip?
Edit: NVM, I've looked at some other AMZN WEB-DLs and they have exactly the same settings. Seems legit. Great job!

PDB, hope this maybe of help. This is the time : frames I worked out in Videoredo for a quick Open Matte - WS Bluray - WEB-DL mash up frame matched to the Bluray. Obviously you have the skills to use zoom in on the Open Matte version just prior to Credit sequence and Dubai scene and remove duplicate location subs.
00.00.00.00 - 00.00.40.09 Bluray Logos WS 00.00.40.10 - 00.02.02.12 WEB-DL Logos (00.00.54.11 - 00.00.55.11 location caption duplicate removal which I assume frame repeat can be used to remove as its black background) 00.02.02.13 - 00.09.35.01 Bluray WS Used widescreen instead of open matte in first sequence as the open matte was cropped at sides and also so it would blend in with the Moscow title card transition (and in the process this also got rid of the duplicate location caption) 00.09.35.02 - 00.11.28.20 Open Matte / Crop at beginning due to having to blend Open Matte credits which I assume you can use zoom function instead. German duplicate captions for Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol need to be removed. 00.11.28.21 - 00.13.27.06 Bluray WS 00.13.27.07 - 00.16.42.12 WEB-DL Open Matte 00.16.42.13 - 00.31.14.12 Bluray WS 00.31.14.13 - 00.31.30.07 WEB-DL Open Matte 00.31.30.08 - 00.51.37.04 Bluray WS 00.51.37.05 - 00.51.58.12 WEB-DL Open Matte 00.51.38.04 - 00.51.42.00 (location caption duplicate needs to be removed I assume using mask from hdtv) 00.51.58.13 -00.52.57.18 Bluray WS 00.52.57.19 - 00.53.22.12 WEB-DL Open Matte 00.53.22.13 - 00.56.05.02 Bluray WS 00.56.05.03 - 00.56.50.19 WEB-DL Open Matte 00.56.50.20 -00.56.56.12 Bluray WS 00.56.56.13 - 01.02.21.14 WEB-DL Open Matte 01.02.21.15 -01.02.50.03 Bluray WS 01.02.50.04 - 01.02.54.23 WEB-DL Open Matte 01.02.55.00 -01.16.34.18 Bluray WS 01.16.34.19 - 01.22.18.11 WEB-DL Open Matte 01.22.18.12 -01.53.31.10 Bluray WS 01.53.31.11 - 01.58.26.08 WEB-DL Open Matte 01.58.26.09 - 02.12.56.07 Bluray / End + Credits

Thanks x5gb. I do have all the spots but a refresher never hurts.
I actually finished this project three times but never released it since I was never 100% satisfied with the results. |
