Regarding the colors in the Two Towers screenshots, these broadcastings have to be the theatrical cut versions.

I have the first two in MPEG-2 with a 17.4 Mb/s bitrate.
And the third one is airing tonight.
Theatrical of course.
They're from a french channel so there are a few hardcoded subs. They have commercials cuts and a logo in the bottom right corner. Unfortunately the logo is pretty much at the same place as the one from OperatorIV.

That's a lot od HDTV recordings coming in, combining them all could lead to logo-free and higher quality

Babouin, OperatorIV, Colek: please retain them all in your hard drives, as I have all of them with logo placed in another corner, so they would DEFINITELY be released WITHOUT logo...
And, the color grading of the open matte versions seems different from both theatrical and extended DVDs/BDs.

I didn't mention it yet, but I also have The Hobbit trilogy. From three different 1080i channels. And I think I know where to find a clean 720p version.

Really? That's great, as they would improve a lot the delogo process... keep them safe as well!

If I remember correctly when I compared it, the Hobbit varied on the amount of picture it showed. I think some parts had a lot more picture while some were cropped (maybe Sfx?).
Anyway just a heads up. I know you are more then use to dealing with that spoRv.

Yep, most open matte versions are like that; there are very few "full" (all, or for the most part) open matte (the ones I recall now are Timeline, with just three shots cropped, and Showgirls, with two or three shots cropped), but I'm sure there are others; also, there are few that are mainly cropped, with a minor part open matte (HP 7 and Riddick comes to mind).
