Thanks Lil Brutto, hopefully it will be worth the download.

spoRv, you of all people are encouraging me to use the DVD over the LD? Lol
But in all seriousness outside of the blown white (some of which are on the DVD), what do you like better about the DVD? Maybe I can add elements of that into the mix.

Cool trailer, thanks for sharing Doombot. Funny how it starts with the Saul Bass logo that they erased from the BD.
I'd love to go see that marathon but what's up with the lack of love for Thunderdome. I mean I know its not a lot of people's favorite but I love it (not withstanding the dragging middle).

I like the LD (apart blown whites) but I think it need to have its brightness lowered a bit... again, following what I could see in this small monitor!

No problem, there's also one more Mad Max Fury Road trailer called Retaliate. http://www.hd-trailers.net/movie/mad-max-fury-road/ I'm guessing the final trailer.
I wondered to about the lack of Thunderdome. I really like that movie as well, my dad's favorite because of Tina Turner

Hey, I know this is the Mad Max II, but without Mad Max (I) it will never be possible to regrade that movie, so...
Well, I'd like to know which color grading is the most "right", or better, or the one you like most etc.

No worries. I already plan on lowering the brightness to around the BD levels. I did the same thing with Blade Runner. Still lots of tweaking to do.

I think she makes a great villain. In many ways she is kind of like the good guys in 2, she just wants to protect what's hers. Not her fault that Jedidiah stole Max's stuff. I mean she does fight with Master Blaster but he's really is not much of a good guys either.
And even though I'm a rock guy, I do like the Beyond Thunderdome song.

I like the first one better but it might be because I'm adding orange to MM2

Ok I regraded the whole beginning chase to the tweaked (lower brightness, contrast, etc) LD and then re-did the DVD for the 3rd time. I'm having a hard time deciding which I like better. I was all into the LD but I'm now leaning back towards the DVD.
Both have their pros and cons. The LDs is brighter (even with the brightness adjusted way down) and more colorful (leaning more orange/yellow) but can be inconsistent and a little cartoonish. Where the DVD is darker, more natural and leaning more red/magenta but that look takes a way a little from the desert look. I created this MKV of the open chase. Would people here mind downloading and taking a look. See which you like better.

The DVD is first and the LD is second. The LD still needs work from when Max meets the gyrocaptain, that is only a first go around., so just focus on the chase part. Thanks

2.23GB for a "small" test clip, to download with a snail-speed connection?!? I hate you...
I'm downloading right now, though!
But don't expect to hear my comments before few hours...

Sorry spoRv! I thought that was small enough with about 1GB per clip. I'll make clips smaller next time.

Obviously I was joking! But the fact that a test clip should not be so big remains! Jerry, understood?
OK, back to topic: DVD is a bit too magenta and dark, while LD is too saturated and bright; I think if you correct them, final results will be really close between them; at that point, it will be up to you... by the way, good job, and I'll be happy whichever versions you'll release!

@ Andrea - Hey, why are you dragging me into this?? My "test" clips have either been a "workprint" of an entire fan-edited feature (and are still under 1GB) or are full 1080p samples (split and remuxed from "final" encode to demonstrate "final" quality - also under 1GB)
Back to topic... I agree with the assesment by Andrea that DVD is too magenta (not by much) and a tad bit dark, while the colors of LD are a little too saturated and overall brightness seems a little high. A "half-way"/"happy medium" should be found between the two and you will have something very nice. Either way, great job moving the project forward and look forward to seeing your next batch of samples
