No I think that I just noticed they are in the wrong order and probably few people have I imagine it is still like that in all releases but if you switch them around the sequence makes more sense and the sound effects are fine with it also.

Instead of 2 consecutive shots of the upper body of the tank feeling like a jump cut...

The gun shop scene is also missing music,

Well, Star Wars (a.k.a. A New Hope) has a continuity error that nobody seemed to have noticed but me - I even posted it on OT, and everybody wrote "weird, never noticed it", so Terminator could be the same.

Curious to see a top/bottom comparison of actual and edited versions... Ronster, it's up to you!

What does everyone think of this correction? It has different settings for some scenes, and most everything seems to generally match the evidence at hand, if a bit off in places. The one that's difficult is the tech noir scene. I put more magenta in it than the regular correction for the majority of the film, but there comes a point when certain colors are altered too much. I'm fine with how the scene looks right now, but it's an example of a segment that isn't entirely accurate.

I've just seen this and can confirm 2013 MGM bluray looks *faithful*. Perhaps not identical, as we might well expect, but pretty damn close. For further info see my OT comment.

Thanks for your report, Valeyard. Looks like this is another nail in Cameron’s so-called “revisionism” coffin, as The Abyss remaster we all have since 2014 is very much faithfull to what the 70mm I saw last summer looks like, as well.

Guys, did you see the movies (Terminator and Abyss respectively) on prints that are confirmed to be original cinema prints? I wouldn't be surprised if they simply struck new ones from a DI for new showings.

I can definitely tell you the 70mm print of The Abyss I saw was from back then: the way the French subtitles looked was not of today's standards, plus it was preceeded by 2 THX jingles. Also, the guy who presented the screening advertised it as being part of a private collection and insisted on the quality of magnetic sound and, oh boy, he did not lie!

It's an original 1984 print they played, I can 100% confirm that. No Donna Smith or Harlan Ellison credits.
