Looking for "The Terminator" (1984) theatrical color grading [FOUND]
It should be noted, any current version of T1 is based on the 2012 master, and the only differences would be damage introduced in the encoding stage, that sadly can results in variations in colors, contrast, grain and luminance.

I suppose a H265 encode, if taken straight from the master, shows an improvement due to the codec being superior to H264.

Shout should just release it in 4K instead of pussyfooting again with regular Blu-ray.

I assume this is the same as the Open Matte (1.77:1) HBO (AMZN) WEB-DL that maksnew acquired ages back, but in OAR 1.85:1.
That one was missing the greencast as well but was cropped to 1:77:1 in some hard matted 1.85:1 shots (can't remember if it was the effects shots), I take it this one is not?.

That's some cool stuff, looking forward. Did you do the 23.976 fps conversion via reencoding or via the MKVToolnix Retiming/Bitstream fixing function? Latter should be lossless.

The green and teal are in the 35mm. I'm sorry but that's how it is: I saw the film projected, and then compared it to the bluray. The bluray doesn't have the right audio, but the colour timing looked pretty much spot-on.

I'd imagine if The Deer Hunter sells well they'll try to (and depending on Cameron as always).

I can't believe there are many new features they could use so 4K is really the only way they can make a new release work.

No re-encoding just fixing the bitstream with mkvtoolnix.

As I said, the master is still a bit teal, but the green overcast evident on Blu is not on the DCP or other sources like the WEBDL open matte or this one.

Obviously looking forward to some comparison pics here. IIRC Stamper you claimed that Netflix France had a completely different Abyss master to the rest of the developed world, so I'm not holding my breath  Tongue

Yes there is supposedly a smaller 'boutique' label that has obtained the rights to re-release The Terminator, that is as much as anyone knows. Arrow claimed they missed out to another label around the time their RoboCop release was announced, take from that what you will.

Even if this is true the lucky label will be supplied with 'approved' materials, I doubt JC even acknowledges the mono exists anymore (it was always a sore point to him that Orion wouldn't shell out for the Dolby Stereo) and as for 4K, that's probably in the queue behind Avatar 2-5, The Abyss, True Lies etc etc (although he may find a little time to convert Aliens to 3D, as a treat).

I think optimistically any new T1 release will include more interviews, special features, perhaps some swag. As always I hope to be proven wrong

Here's comparison shots between UK Blu-Ray (from Caps-a-holic website) and Amazon Prime Video (H265)

Is the Amazon the H265? Different streams and encode make for different shift in colors.

The Amazon is sightly yellower.
