The 1967 United Artists logo as seen on the recent Kino Lorber blu-rays has always to my eyes looked like a recreation, especially with how the blue "CRT" portion of the logo becomes just another rounded off square and the UA wordmark is centered within the circle. I figured, since this likely means there might not be another source for the genuine article, we could at least do with a more accurate recreation. Nice work if that is a recreation! The Kino Dollars releases used a fan recreation that originated from here https://www.avid.wiki/United_Artists#/me...17H152.png [/quote] It is! I used the scope version that was captured off of Retroplex's 'You Only Live Twice' as a basis and drew the rest as vectors. I was mostly hardlining on getting the blue "tube TV" look right. It bugs me on how both this and the recreation from Joker that it gets simplified into just a rounded-off square. Thanks!

Sure has been quite here...
Just recently, a flat widescreen version of the 1981 CIC logo (the one Williarob originally found off his Raders of the Lost Ark scan) has surfaced on iTunes and Amazon Video Italy copies of Segni Particolari: Bellissimo. ![]() Apparently, this movie was released in Germany on Blu some time ago (Seriously, how did I miss it?!). Not only does the German BD also have this logo intact, but seems to use a different transfer going by this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_RmlATDMVs Apparently, the CIC branches in some countries were still in operation until switching to UIP by at least 1986. According to some poster searching, the last release to bear the CIC name was a 1985 Spanish film called Operación Mantis, starring and directed by famed Paul Naschy. Another jaw dropping find, and my jaw still hasn't retracted back up yet LOL! Thanks given by: Evit

My turn to bump!
The Orion logo that my profile pic comes from is currently only found on one film; Sidney Lumet's Prince of the City from 1981. According to this: https://www.avid.wiki/Orion_Pictures#1st..._18,_1981) It would have been seen on many, many more films in their first runs, including Life of Brian, Wolfen, Caddyshack, Arthur, Time After Time, The Great Santini, 10, and Sharky's Machine. All of these were replaced by the more familiar constellation logo for the majority of home media and streaming releases. Prince of the City is in 1.85:1, which is good enough for most of the films on the list except for Wolfen and Time After Time[i/], which were both released in 2.35:1. [i]Time After Time[i/] proves the opening logo may not be difficult to recreate, however, as it looks like the 1.85:1 variant simply cropped and slightly horizontally stretched. Also on the topic, [i]First Blood was released in 1982 which would ordinarily make me believe that it utilized the scope Warner byline version of the constellation logo, but it appears that it was among the first films to utilize the byline-less Orion logo (which I am actually not sure where to locate in scope).

Would like to use it for the new Pink Panther 4K's as they apparently don't have them. I presume you're talking about this one, coined the "Transamerica T" which was in use from 1968-1975. ![]() Dozens of 4k releases have it, Taking of Pelham 123, Thundebolt and Lightfoot are ones I know for sure of the top of my head. However, it was only used on some early 70s rerelease prints of The Pink Panther and A Shot in the Dark. Overseas theatrical prints of the former two had the UA "Hexagon" spliced in, but was not present on the US premiere prints. Taking into account the poorly colorized & cropped YT video screenshot, a black and white version of this is found in 2k on Return From the Ashes. ![]() Return of the Pink Panther used a different variation of the Transamerica T, which was briefly in use from early-late 1975. ![]() This one can be found in flat on Rollerball, but the scope version which is positioned farther back can be currently found in 2k on the Scorpion Releasing BD of The Killer Elite. Meanwhile, The Pink Panther Strikes Again and Revenge of the Pink Panther, as well as 1978 reissue prints of The Pink Panther, A Shot in the Dark, and Return of the Pink Panther, had this variation which was in use from 1975-1980. ![]() This one can be found on the StudioCanal/Kinos 4ks of Convoy.
