Been lurking for a while but had to sign up to show my appreciation for this project.
Being from the UK, and watching The Terminator as a kid in the 80's, this colour grade looks just like my mind remembers it on my ''dad's'' dodgy bootleg VHS copy. Next up, Evil Dead 2

About to see the double bill in UK cinemas of 1 and 2 and hoping they are not the newer masters.

T1 was the teal version with the new MGM logo.
It had more DNR than the blu to my eye but wasn't terrible. But checking my BD at home the cinema version has a Skywalker sound credit at the end that is missing in the BD I have. This did have the new "corrected" gun sounds. T2 was the shitty 3d version in 2d It's a shame as in london same night they had 35mm 1 and 70mm 2 bout I could not afford the trip

So we have confirmation now that there is a 5.1 with corrected guns sounds.
I retired my 5.1 remix fix, I will I think work differently, and do a stereo version that uses the mono version as the base throughout. I may in the meantime do a V2 of the remix fix, with some slight corrections.

Well, thinking about it in some scenes it was less of a total wash, but in the parking garage it was all teal.
It looked decent I wasn't unhappy, for a bit I thought it was the original timing, so that must say something. It looked better than the BD. What gave it away was shutting the door on the stop motion terminator and the blue from the blue screen around Sarah that was less visible in the older master. |
