Cliffhanger uses a different Carolco ident, the same one as Universal Soldier/Basic Instinct. It has different, aurora-style light shining out of the 'C' versus the T2 variant which has a straight laser-style light.

I’ve always loved T2 and this Looks interesting, I’m certainly gonna need to learn the lingo around here though.

Also, Cliffhanger has the TriStar opening logo before Carolco as it used to be. What do you guys think? Shall I add it to open the video? If I do it, then the audio tracks will have to be modified to add the TriStar opening, and I'm not sure I can do it properly in multichannel on my own for the several tracks I plan to include in English and French.
If you're wanting to keep the audio in a bitstream format, you can just convert the audio on the logo to the same codec/bitrate and combine it with the rest.
That’s what I was thinking of trying. Same codec and channel layout, and just "append segment" in the muxing process to glue the TriStar opening up front. I wonder if it will work with the dts ES remix though, as I don’t think I have a TriStar opening in that same kind of mixing.
And now that I see again the whole thumbnail, I realize I need to revisit the color consistency of the wood pannels in front of the bar.

Take the 5.1 ac3, and just re-encode it to dts ES. For something quick like a logo the lack of a rear channel shouldn't cause any issues.

I don't know how to encode dts, so dts ES is a stretch. Since it's 5.1 ES, maybe it's not even a problem as the 6th channel is matrixed anyway. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll just make all tracks FLAC 2.0 and 5.1, depending on the original channel layout, and call it a day. We'll see. First I need to finish the video aspect before deeping my toes in the audio high seas.

"Recall" is in 1.85:1, so wouldn’t work. But there's also "Narrow Margin" from a year before "T2", I believe, also in scope. I'll analyze the differences if any.

T2 and Total Recall use the same ident, T2's is cropped more for the scope ratio. It's a super 35mm thing I think

The DTS encoder suite can do ES. If it's a route you end up taking you can PM me the ac3 and I can encode it for you.

Does anybody have the open matte shown here?
https://youtu.be/KLBKeFtONBg?is=kafRIktkl4H-vAPE
I suppose it’s the random.next one, but I never found it. I'd consider doing the same regrading effort for the open matte for sure. Please PM me if you can help.
