This project started off as a simple reworking of the past project done by PDB, only on blu ray with all of the extra features from the DVD. However after speaking to PDB he felt the video could be improved upon using newer tools and techniques.
So the audio is taken directly from the project done by PDB, however the video has been reworked from scratch. The Director’s Cut was released on DVD only and contains four additional scenes.
The DVD suffers from really bad edge enhancement so the extra scenes were first ran through a few different filters in avisynth to lessen it and then ran through Topaz dehalo. The footage was then upscaled to 4K in Topaz and then some instances of dirt and dust were removed.
The Blu Ray also suffered from edge enhancement so that was also dehaloed in avisynth and then deblocked in Topaz.
Then the footage was joined together and frame matched to PDB’s project. The blu ray footage was boosted slightly on the exposure and shadows as it was a little dark. The DVD footage was matched using Dr Dre where possible, a few of the extra scenes had matching shots to the blu ray and for those that didn’t I used a LUT from a scene in a similar setting.
You can still clearly see the difference between the DVD and Blu Ray footage but I don’t think it’s too bad and I’m happy with the results, plus the LD track on this is an absolute beast.
Massive thanks to PDB for the original project.

Just to clarify this is a project that I have made for myself which I am choosing to share. If you don't like the project, if you think it should have been done differently then feel free to keep that to yourself and consider doing your own project.
