Yeah, I was looking at that comparison earlier. Doesn't it boil down to fact that we need Bedsoe's drinking coffee and some shots of the wrestlers and nothing else?

Guys I know you are trying here, but let's get things in perspective.

The Shots of the Wrestlers are on the Blu-Ray Deleted scenes pretty sure about that there is about 2 minutes of Wrestlers fighting pretty sure you 3 seconds will be there.

Now on to the other shot.... This shot sounds as dull as dishwater can't say I have ever seen it as I am from Europe so we never seen that shot over here. If there is not much movement in it and it's not blurring out like a frantic sword fight I would not get to bothered about it.

Plenty of studios release films or have released films with shots from other releases that were not de-interlaced amongst progressive footage. If proper studios can do this I don't see why you should care so much as to not care and discount the 6.5 seconds. It strikes me as a ludicrous conclusion to come to... It's very disapointing and personally it feels like all the fun is gone from years and years past chatting with film lovers only to be confronted with this mindset that has infected the fan edit / restoration community.

I really do feel there is no spirit left and no gut's everyone cares too much what there forum peers will think, it's become more a competition of who can do it better rather than do it at all.

This is not a personal attack on anyone I am talking about the mindset of many many people would come to the conclusion you have reached and... yeah people would of just done it before now there is perhaps people caring too much about inconsequential 6.5 seconds that even if a bit blurred would be a "so what?"

Now also without wanting to Hijack the thread away from the preservation of the US cut... I was trying to suggest the idea of restoring the deleted animation to the film which is in finished form perhaps another project granted but It's one of the best bits in the film (End Quickening) and it does not even raise an eyebrow? This is why I feel like I am losing all hope with this sort stuff. I really do feel like the fun is gone, and I just can't help feeling that way.

My opinion.

6.5 seconds partially blurred.... Who will care?

But the other thing I need to add to this is that the file sizes that you lot or sharing most people will never get to see your work either.

Anyway not mentioned on movie censorship do you have the paper mache head exploding or the scream with the light and animation? Actually sorry I think the difference is only a few extra frames of the paper mache head before it explodes in the original cut...

I'll tell you what I have for the end part.

I have the sound effects track (Stem) for the prize
I have the music score for the prize and located the 2 or 3 missing shots one of which might be a replacement for the paper mache head actually.
As far as extending the fight with the Kurgun which has no audio I only have the cut music and no sound effects.

I'd like to see that shot but a much much smaller file size would do....

Notice the difference in the soundmix....

Current Releases now....

Here is the end monologue that was lifted from the first film this was to play over Conner and Rachel in the Highlands of Scotland (Actually it's Wales) extended scene... I imagine in conjunction with "I want to go home"" missing line from European mix. Audio and Video and also Soundtrack can be joined on this one for a restoration.

To the best of our knowledge, it wasn’t.

Thanks Bigrob, just wanted to make sure I was right on that. Outside of upscaling I was trying to figure out how many frames if any are missing when they cut in the new footage (example: the flash backs in the wrestling match).

Still want to get this project done but looking harder to do with the HDTV broadcast.

Would you be willing to re-up this, please? And, if you have it, the dialogue "I want to go home"?

I've been working on an edit of this for fanedit.org.

If you can, thank you! If you can't, I understand.

Using a rip of my 1993 US Theatrical Cut laserdisc as a guide (and for the bitperfect digital audio), the 2010 US Bluray as the main source, and a 4K scan of a 1986 35mm US film print for the missing / changed scenes, I have finally brought the US Theatrical Cut of Highlander into the High Definition age.

Here's a short film about my reconstruction:
