The Evil Dead: Color Regrade with the 1st Jap-LD?
#11
The missing scenes you refer to from Evil Dead II were 'lost' scenes that exist only on videotape, I believe they were incorporated into the film in a German blu ray with an obvious quality drop. Can anyone verify this?

Edit: I believe it is called the 'Wood edition' or 'Extended cut'

Well, at least I'm not getting mad... yet! I watched it more than twenty years ago, so there is at least one TV version with these shots - and maybe more, who knows?

Still, the pissing-fire dog isn't there... and I'm pretty sure it was in the first movie... or maybe I confuse it with another movie?

Just check the link one post above your recent one. Maybe that is the Scene you are searching for...

You posted just in the right moment I have posted, so I missed the link... yes, it's that scene, I mixed up the movies - I watched so many horrors when I was young (last millennium, a long time is passed...) that maybe you can excuse me if sometimes my memory tricks me! Big Grin (at least, I picked the right ones on EDII!)

Hi everyone,
I came across this old discussion while researching the history of the 1985 Japanese Herald Videogram LaserDisc (SF078-5044).
I'm particularly interested in the preservation work mentioned here and the 2008 capture by Moth3r that was later associated with The Evil Dead – The Treasures Collection.
I'm trying to document the history of this particular LD transfer and would love to hear from anyone who was involved with the project, knew Moth3r's work, or remembers the original capture.
If anyone has information about the capture itself — such as the equipment, format, workflow, or how the transfer was preserved — I'd be very interested to hear about it.
I'd also be interested in hearing from anyone who still owns the original Herald Videogram LD and can confirm details about the release.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this discussion over the years. It's fascinating to see this material being documented.
