I double-checked and triple-checked my Profile Options to make sure that the "Display Images In Posts" box is checked... and it is... but none of these images are showing up in the threads. Is there some other thing I can do to get the images to appear? Thank you. Big Grin

Dear friends,
I'm going to work on my first bonus disc project; I've just released The Arrival [spoRv] (movie only), so a companion bonus disc seems a very good idea; think that, apart a very rare German DVD that includes few extra material, no other version has extras, excluding a mere trailer... well, this is the thread of the Bonus Disc (work in progress): http://fanres.com/showthread.php?tid=134

[proposal] Do The Right Thing - 'orange tint'
Posted by: alexpeden2000 - 2015-03-01, 06:05 PM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - Replies (26)

This is a bit of a strange one, normally we're complaining about tints being added to old movies on here. With Do The Right Thing the opposite happened on the blu-ray release:

http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDReview...lu-ray.htm

I always really liked the striking orange colour of this film and think it was a big part of the feel of the movie so my question is; would it be possible for someone (I would if I knew what I was doing!) to add an orange tint to the blu-ray to recreate the original look? Alternatively if there are any HDTV rips with the orange look I'd be greatful if someone could point me in the right direction. Many thanks!

The link appears only when there are one or more unread posts, with number of posts inside brackets; now, sometime I have a "View Unread Posts" link withouth brackets, and following it I go to a list of posts made by... me!?!

Thinking to upgrade the forum software soon, so maybe we'll get rid of this small bugs... but I'm a bit afraid of losing all data...

Regraded Terminator 2 Judgement Day Director's Cut
Posted by: kk650 - 2015-02-25, 01:21 AM - Forum: Released - Replies (27)

kk650 presents: Regraded Terminator 2 Judgement Day: Director's Cut 1080p

Technical Specs:

Name: Regraded Terminator 2 Judgement Day: Director's Cut 1080p

Size: 22.6 GB

Video: 1920x816 H264 23.976

Audio Track: English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1

Subtitle Track 1: English Subtitles

Subtitle Track 2: Spanish Subtitles

The Spanish blu-ray of Terminator has a lot more grain and overall detail than the DNRed Skynet Edition available in other parts of the world. With this 22GB regraded release I have nearly tripled the average video bitrate compared to the 8gb release to retain has much of the grain and overall detail on the Spanish blu-ray as possible. Saturation has also been reduced slightly compared to the 8gb regraded release which I felt in hindsight was a little too punchy colourwise. Also included is the DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 from the blu-ray for the best audio possible as well. Enjoy! Smile

I recently checked it out Terminator 2 Judgement Day: Director's Cut blu-ray and could see that there is also a blanket green tint throughout the whole film like The Terminator so I went ahead and created a regraded version removing this blanket green tint and bringing the other colours back to life. The skintones and overall colours have also been adjusted to more closely match the less reddish colours of the DVD releases of Terminator 2 that I think look far more natural and more accurately reflect the fleshtones i've seen of the photos taken during the making of Terminator 2. The colours are also now more consistant with the regraded The Terminator release.

I have also used as my blu-ray source the Spanish blu-ray that has a lot more grain and overall detail that the DNRed US Skynet Edition and therefore looks far more natural and filmic, making Terminator 2 a lot more appealing to watch. Smile

I hope you enjoy what i´ve done here. Please post back here with feedback of what you think of this release after you check it out, it would be greatly appreciated!

[Cancelled] Mad Max 2/Road Warrior Regrade (Warner 97 DVD and LD)
Posted by: PDB - 2015-02-24, 08:39 PM - Forum: Archived projects - Replies (344)

Note: This thread is old and this project has changed a lot. I would suggest reading this first post then reading the latest postings and work your way back

Formally this was one regrade project, now it has two additional MM2/RW projects to form a Mad Max 2 Collection, similar to my Blade Runner collection

Project Info:

The basis of this project is to color regrade the Blu-ray (BD) to look more like the 1997 DVD and 1994 laserdisc (LD). The DVD unfortunately has a red/magenta bias which is similar to all early Warner DVDs. The LD, which uses the same master, is less red and tends more towards orange and yellow but is over saturated and has less stable black levels. Basically, both come from the same master but their individual details vary enough to make them each unique. So in the end, I will regrade this to the DVD but provide an alternative regrade to the LD.

Furthermore, the DVD grade was further modified by balancing the shadows and removing a bit of the red/magenta bias and re-balanced the colors and black level slightly with some small amount of luma recovered from the original BD. The LD has had it's black levels adjusted and some small amount of luma recovered from the original BD

Since members here wanted each of the titles preserve, Mad Mad 2 and Road Warrior, I decided to re-create the shorter the US Theatrical cut (aka the International cut) found on all media up until the BD using the DVD grade while the longer Mad Max 2 will use the laserdisc grade.

[request] True Romance... better quality possible?
Posted by: oh_riginal - 2015-02-23, 05:44 AM - Forum: Requests, proposals, help - Replies (5)

I understand that the current blu-ray release is subpar at best. I don't suppose there is any way to improve upon its quality in any way? This movie is one that only gets better as time goes by, in my opinion, yet the treatment it receives for home video releases would lead one to believe the opposite, and that's a damn shame!
