I am a bit lost about original audio track... isn't the one included in the remastered US widescreen laserdisc "right"?

It is but I think MrBrown is look for a stereo or 5.1 mix with the original gunshot sounds. So something a bit different than the original mono. The current 5.1 is very grating with it's new sounds, particularly the the gunshots. Also missing sounds like the "sword" sound. Since there have been reports of a "new" 5.1 with original sounds, I think that's what MrBrown is after or at least a soundtrack that can be used to make a better 5.1. Which is very cool of him. Yeah, if there is somewhere a surround or even 5.1 soundtrack with original gunshot, it would be great.
Even if it is not in englisch, it may help people with the competence in audio edition to create a well mixed surround track for terminator. I lack such competence... But if I ever find such a track on any of the DVDs in my collection, I would not sit on it like a hen..

It should be fairly easy to do. Or, replace the dialogs with original laserdisc sound (when on the center channel) or using another 5.1 English track. It *shouldn't* be so hard, just quite time consuming. I'd use Audacity - maybe because it's free, and I just started to learn (a bit) how to use it!

I think he comes on here as well but a user on OT.com called Ronster made a hybrid mix combining the old sound with the 5.1 mix which he sent me there. Maybe try messaging him.

I have the original DVD, so I can rip it any way I want it. I will search for the vob tool, to extract the audio... I do not think handbrake touches it, but we can make sure that way.
